Article on ISD says he has visited Notre Dame 3 times already and is going to visit again. I can't read the rest of it but that sounds like great news.

This kid looks like a stud. 4.33 GPA, 31 ACT, involved strongly in Catholic youth group? Sounds like a Notre Dame kid through and through (this might put us in the driver's seat?). Oh, and he's 6'6 300 lbs. as a sophomore in high school. He appears to play with a mean streak as well. My God. I wouldn't be surprised to see this kid explode on the recruiting scene. I'm glad we're already making serious inroads.

On campus right now, and per BGI is having a great time. The staff "has a lot of things planned for him". I have a feeling Steven might be our first commit of '13. Would be a great, great way to start off the class if it happens.

Unless Notre Dame totally sucks on the field this year, look for Elmer to be the first '13 commit sometime in the coming months.

Love taking studs out of the state of Michigan. Love it love it love it love it.

ISD has an article up and it seems he is very comfortable with ND. Got to talk with Warinner and Kelly with his whole family. Said he will get to at least 3 games this season and would be open to committing before the end of his junior season.

Where will this kid be ranked in his class?

Per 24/7:

Just-missed five-stars

At such an early stage in the process, five-stars were handed out very sparingly. With eight prospects earning the initial five-star nod, there were plenty that were heavily discussed that just missed the cut.

Perhaps the closes prospect to landing on the list was Fort Worth (Texas) Arlington Heights offensive lineman A’Shawn Robinson. Though his recruitment has yet to really take off, his size and athleticism blend has wowed the 247Sports staff has put him near the top of numerous college radars.

Also on the offensive line, Midwest prospects Ethan Pocic and Steven Elmer both were under heavy consideration. Two massive linemen with a run-blocker’s mentality, Pocic and Elmer are both likely to have their choice of schools.

+1. I expect/hope it will happen before the end of November. Would be an awesome start to the '13 class.

Trying to make it down for the MSU game. If he doesn't make it for that he's going to come for the USC game.

Like I said before "Unless Notre Dame totally sucks on the field this year, look for Elmer to be the first '13 commit sometime in the coming months." Sadly, that's what's happening. By letting Michigan off the hook in the game we've also let them into the race for Elmer.

We NEED this win.

2013 Michigan OL Elmer Commits

2013 Michigan OL Elmer Commits .
Saturday, 17 September 2011 13:32 Christian McCollum

Notre Dame picked up its first commitment in the Class of 2013 as offensive lineman Steve Elmer committed to the Irish today. Elmer's camp, who is on campus for an unofficial visit for today's game against Michigan State, confirmed the news with Irish Sports Daily via text.

The 6-foot-6, 297-pound junior also had offers from Michigan, Michigan State, Mississippi State, Wisconsin and Syracuse.

Irish Sports Daily will have much more from Elmer following the visit.

Does anyone know anything about him? He's huge. 5-star on rivals (voting-wise), 4 on scout. That's all I know.

Can't believe that we got him considering he's from Michigan and was at the Michigan ND game last week.

And...I just saw Elmer's profile on the Front Page.

Anybody else? Have we made it so '13 recruits can be seen on the Front Page?
