I hope they didn't turn down, from the sounds of it, a commitment from a Top DL because they "hope" to get Jones. They better have turned down Schutt because they already have Jones.

Otherwise you take the commitment from Schutt and if Jones decides to commit you throw him in.

I agree with this completely. The staff had better know for a fact they're getting Jones if they turned down Schutt. "Thinking" or "feeling" they'll get Jones isn't good enough.

I agree with you. If we do not land Jones you can only imagine how upset all of us will be. I can see this whole site in total meltdown mode. Turning away Schutt in my opinion was a mistake, but then we have to give our coaches the benefit of the doubt and personally I wanted Jones more. Just hope it happens.

Jones is an absolute monster, he is at the top of our list. Losing out on him would be terrible regardless of the other players Notre Dame does and does not get. I think he has nearly as much potential as Ben Koyack.

Fwiw, Jarron has changed his profile pic on facebook to him and BK.

Back to Jones guys. This is his thread and he and his family might be reading this. Could be a big-time commit for us...

I really really hope we get him. He would help out the defense a lot and he would be our future on the d-line(so is Day). Is he supposed to make his decision soon?

Jarron Jones would be a tremendous asset to the program both on and off the field. I really think he will commit to ND soon...he is one of those kids who just feels something "click" when they visit. He is just waiting to make sure it was real love not just infatuation.

I sincerely hope he does commit and join the Irish.

Games are won and lost in the trenches... With the Lynch, Tuitt, Ishaq class of last year and the possibilty of adding some studs like Day and Jarron, well we could potentially have an SEC-esque front 7

come on down to South Bend Jarron

Jarron Jones definitely fits the "BEAST" theme that we seem to be going for on defense.

Obviously take this FWIW, but today a guy came into the grocery store where I work wearing an Aquinas shirt. I was helping a cashier and I overheard him talking to someone while in line. They were talking about Aquinas football and Jarron came up. The man said from everyone he's talked to and from everything that he's heard that he would be absolutely shocked if he doesn't go to ND. And again take it FWIW

ISD has an interesting update on Jarron. I don't want to give too much away, but the family is very high on ND. No committment coming yet though.

Hey, you know what? Day and Jones are faster, and quicker and have a much longer reach than any other prospect, or former prospect. When you go back looking for it, it is there to see.

Definitely not a silent after some reading I just did. Seems like we are in the driver's seat but we have a LONG way to go. So much so that it doesn't look like he will make a commitment before the football season like he had wanted to originally... expect him to take OVs for at least Penn State and ND regardless of what happens.

Oh, and just to make this day of Katenda losing his vision and ND saying "we're full" Schutt even better.... Boston freaking College apparently might get a look from Jarron. Fun times.

Care to share what it is you read? Or just that he's going to take his time and BC might enter the mix?

None of this seems contrary to a silent.

A silent means the wool has been pulled over your recruitnik ojos.

I agree with johnny. The point of a silent verbal is so the recruit can enjoy his OVs while "reserving" his place in the class which he knows he'll ultimately be joining.

I hate when my ojos go loco.

ISD's info explains that he is definitely not a silent.

Seriously, if he really were a silent, they either, wouldn't know, or wouldn't tell. Would they? Now I am confused. Help me Johnny, Bambi, anybody!

Maybe he need a cranberry juice? You should be more sensitive.

At this point, I have no faith in "silent" commits. We've had a few here and there. I do believe they most always keep their OVs and enjoy the trip.

We know he loved ND.

I'm as confused as anyone else.

I do find it strange we have no room at the inn for Schutt.

This seems to be boding well enough for our ride until NSD.

I think since Day is a DT/SDE swing he filled up our interior spot for this class while Jones may fill out the DE spot in the class.

PS ND giving Day a ultimatem when knowing Schutt was going to commit and Michigan denying his visit tells me recruiting services have Schutt overrated.
