It's not about win or loss, necessarily. The atmosphere is going to be incredible. A bunch of drunk Irish fans, screaming their lungs out at night time vs. the hated, USC... It's going to be unbelievable. Win or lose, the recruits are going to realize how special ND nation is. Just imagine all of the pre-game celebrations that will be going on before the game even starts. Once they kick off, there won't be a person in that 80,000+ stadium that won't want to ink up with the blue and gold.

Go Irish!

I 100% agree with you on that. Im sure some kids will commit just because of the atmosphere. If we win, we will get every recruit that was at that game.

This is what I'm talking about. Anyone who has ever been to this rivalry knows what I'm talking about. It's that game experience and electricity that makes it so special. It's a special place to be for sure and many of these recruits will love it and want to be a part of it.

I think law school and football was a stretch too, albeit a noble stretch. If you followed Chris through articles and Twitter, I think you'd agree that he might admit to selling both a little short.

That is not to say that it was not worth while or very cool or he'd take it back. But there are some things that must be pursued jealously. No one has endless time and energy. That is at least one of the reasons that there have been so few dual-sport pros.

And putting motivational cliches aside, if you need an ND example of what I am talking about, its Joey Hiben:

“It came down to architecture being more important than football to me,” Hiben told the Observer back in February of 2006. “During the fall I realized that there would be a point in time where I would have to pick architecture or football because at this University, it’s impossible to do both at the same time. I had known that this would have to happen.”

A lot of what you learn in computer science you learn at 4 am, Mountain Dew in hand. I just don't see you competing with the Stanford computer geeks AND the football team at the same time and doing either at a high level.

Hiben’s journey comes full circle | Inside the Irish

I don't think there is anyone on this board qualified to say that this kid is "naive" for choosing computer science at Stanford. If this is his dream and he has the drive and commitment he can make it happen. You are saying that because Hiben had to choose between football and architecture that Ifeadi is "naive" for choosing Computer Science at Stanford? So based on that logic one person can't or was unsuccessful ...therefore, you assume that NO ONE can be successful at both a football career/ architecture major? That is the defeatist attitude...
I will spare you any of the motivation clichés…

haha I wouldnt go that far

You're underestimating the emotions of a bunch of 17-year olds who are at the biggest game of their lives!

Having said that, you're probably right. But, I bet half of the kids there (who aren't already committed) commit that night.

Whiskey ..........No !! My father didnt know who the kid was ..... he's 84 y/o He was selling a Centerville H.S. Football fundraiser.. My father asked him if he was going to play Football in College and he said yes and mentioned a few of the schools mentioned on his stat sheet and said he was leaning towards ND......Thats a big deal !!! coming from a school which has had several OSU players / NFL. ND to my knowledge... hardly ever recruits from Centerville. OSU over the years has had ...... Pat Thomas, Matt Bradley, John Schaefer, Mike Nugent, Herbstreit, Bowman,Hawk, Michael Bennett, and I'm sure theres a few i have missed.

OSU Is imbeded in the kids mind at C.H.S. What a shot in the arm it would be to see Ifeadi be the first in a long time to goto Notre Dame. The kid lives at the top of my parents street and never met the kid before. Funny thing was he was affraid of my Dads Bassett Hound . I laughed pretty hard at that. Myself.....I never met him, but my father was pretty impressed with the kid.

KEEP THE FAITH !!!

nice info Sean...

So were also at the game where he gave Braxton all he wanted too? You know as I do, that his speed is very very intriguing at LB spot. Add 25lbs to him...
