Jones has patella tendinopathy, or jumpers knee. Not sure how serious that is.

From the article “Nothing against coaches who are a little bit older because I know they’re very, very knowledgeable, but I don’t know if they’re as energetic as Diaco would be.”

Would Joe Pa fall under the category of coaches are a little bit older? I hear dirt was first discovered when Joe Pa was in 3rd grade.

I like our chances. If we land him and Schutt I will be quite ecstatic.

Amen. Add Day and you would follow one A+ D-line haul with another. The best part is picturing Nix, Shwenke, Tuitt, Lnch, Jones, Shutt, and Day all rotating.

Great article. Jarron and family seem to be very down to earth. No doubt a Notre Dame family. I really hope our Irish can with this battle for this outstanding young man. Go Irish!

I would say he sounds like an ND lean but then the author is a bit biased. The five hour radius is concerning but what they really want is a support structure to look out for their son and make sure he stays on the straight and narrow. I would take ND and 20 hours to drive versus any of these other schools next door in a heart beat. I am sure Diaco told them about our graduation rate a couple of hundred times to reinforce this point.

Strong family + strong faith = strong chances for ND to sign this kid.

8 hours from Rochester to South Bend isn't too bad of a trip. Things are starting to heat up with this kid!

Impressive parents.

+1. It looks like from where he went to high school to the recruiting process so far, Jarron and his parents are looking for the best school, not just football program (although ND naturally has both :p). I always appreciate when I see stories like ISDs that show a complete person, not just a kid in pads.

Yes, Aquinas is a very nice school. I know some girls who went there. It would be awesome to have a local recruit end up at ND. Hell, I was excited enough that a kid from Rochester was this highly rated... I really never thought ND be in play, despite Aquinas' "Irish" moniker.

THIS GUY NEEDS TO BE AT THE TOP OF OUR LIST!!!

(Seriously this time. He is now the most important person in the class to me. If he does not commit then turning down Schutt will go from questionable to terrible.)

I second this opinion!! We have to get Jones for sure! I hope the staff knows something that us fans don't yet. Turning away Schutt is crazy. The only thing that would possibly make it less painful for me is that we get Jones on board. C'mon Jarron pull the trigger and become Irish!

Out of Day, Schutt and Jones, Jones has been the guy I wanted the most. He is one of the biggest players in the entire 2012 class. Any position. I have to feel good about him since the staff didn't make room for Zorich, I mean, Shutt.

I feel the same way you do. I have been wanting Jones from Day one and I hope we get him. I am hoping the staff turned Schutt away because they feel we will get Jones. I hope this is the case, because like you, Jones has been my favorite of all the DL prospects.

I hope they didn't turn down, from the sounds of it, a commitment from a Top DL because they "hope" to get Jones. They better have turned down Schutt because they already have Jones.

Otherwise you take the commitment from Schutt and if Jones decides to commit you throw him in.
