Thought there was already a thread on this but couldn't find it.

Anyways:
-Greenberry is a surprise attendee replacing Shaq and playing both offense and defense.
-Tee & Deontay seem to be picking up where they left off last time around.
-CJ Prosise seems to be solid so far in 1v1s
-Ronald Darby is apparently dominating at corner and not doing too bad at WR either.

I think ESPNU is going to have coverage later but I'm not sure.

Thought Ronald Darby looked more built when I saw him last night & that's been confirmed watching him in workouts.

Very good to hear Darby confirm his commitment to the Irish. Still will take visits, but I feel better about him staying Irish.

Glad to see the guys holding their own from coast to coast. Also like to hear them talking to the young kids. That makes lasting impressions.

Greenberry is playing WR, CB, S, and LB. The level of confidence he plays with is unreal.

Darby is dominating in 1 on 1 drills. Best CB there.

CJ has been beat a few times here and there but has really held his own.

Tee Shepard is bigger than he is listed. More stout. Time in the weight room is paying off.

“@BobLichtenfels: Deontay Greenberry toasts Wayne Morgan badly 1st play of the west-Midwest game”

“@BobLichtenfels: Cj prosise makes a big play in the end zone for a break-up. Morgan redeems. Himself with a break-up to stop a west drive”

“@BobLichtenfels: Greenberry playing both ways for the west and doing well at LB and WR”

Supposedly Greenberry pick-6'd Shane Morris... but had it called back for an illegal block. Weak.

Deontay Greenberry just became the first guy to beat Ronald Darby. Both #notredame commits, that will be a fun battle in practice. 40yd TD

Greenberry beats Ronald Darby deep, first time we've seen Darby beat today..#notredame future looking bright in South Bend

If we had a draft of players at Gridiron Kings, after Day 1, my 1st pick would be #notredame commit Ronald Darby. Elite Talent, premium Pos. --Scott Kennedy

Some more, albeit earlier Tweets from Kennedy:

Tee Shepherd, another #notredame guy, just made a sweet PBU cutting under a slant and diving to knock it down with his inside hand

Ronald Darby has Bryce Treggs on lockdown so far. Treggs is a top 10 WR, but Darby is the #1 CB on #scoutrecruiting

Ronald Darby is #scoutrecruiting's #1 corner, and he's blanketing everyone today

Take note DL recruits, they can't pass against our future backfield, come to ND and stop the run.

With Darby's tools he is only going to get better and better as he refines his technique and picks up some of the fine points. Really encouraging to see him seemingly so advanced already.

If you had asked me last night whether Darby or Shepard was the better cover corner, I would've said Shepard, easily.

Our defense could be monstrous in 3-4 years. So much talent.

This is one thing I don't like about blogging on recruits... We automatically assume the 'fast' or 'strong' one has to fine-tune his techniques to maximize his potential because he's all-athleticism... Kind of like assuming a kid who runs a 4.3 can't do it in pads... Who says the best athlete isn't the best technician.

If we see a DB that runs a 4.6 we assume he's smart, knows the game, and has good technique and just needs to have some coaching to improve his speed... If we have a DB who runs a 4.3, we assume he needs to imrove his technique and coverage reads... Just weird to me.

I disagree. I think EVERY high school player has to fine-tune their technique and continue to learn the fine points of the game as they transition from high school to college. No high school player is a complete player. No college player is a complete player. Guys continue to improve throughout their careers - they are better in 12th grade than they were in 10th; better as juniors in college than they were as freshmen; better as 5th year NFL vets than they were as rookies.
