Family joins Irish family
Tee Shepard (Fresno, Calif./ Central) and Deontay Greenberry (Fresno, Calif./Washington Union) have always been close. They are family, literally. The two are cousins and very tight. It's no wonder they ended up committing to the same school -- Notre Dame.
"We grew up together," Greenberry said. "We have been tight since we were little and going to school together is something we always dreamed about. We were very fortunate enough to make it happen. We got offers from all over but pulled the trigger on Notre Dame. They have a great combination of academics and athletes."
Shepard, 6-0 and 180 pounds, plays cornerback. Greenberry, 6-2 and 185 pounds, is a wide receiver. They are two good athletes that can't wait to get to South Bend.
"We are going to turn it up once we get to Notre Dame," Shepard said. "We are going to win a national championship. That's how we will do it."
In the meantime, the cousins didn't travel across the country just for fun.
"Man, it was an 11-hour flight for us," Greenberry said. "We didn't come out here for nothing. We came out to ball and compete. He's going to win the MVP of the defense and I am going to win the MVP of the offense."
Both players are members of the ESPNU 150.
I don't know if it has been posted yet but here is an article on both Shepard and Greenberry.
Gridiron Kings: Cousins Looking to be Kings

We are cousins, but we are really brothers. We grew up together and have played Pop Warner since fifth grade and we always dreamed of playing high school together, then college and the pros. So far we are two for three
It’s also about being leaders. Being at these camps, with these elite athletes and coaches, it’s our job to take this back to our team and help prepare them for a great year.

I'm surprised it doesn't mention Darby or Deonte since it seemed they we're playing well according to the twieets?

Tee Shepard (Fresno, Calif./Central)
6-0, 180
College: Notre Dame
Shepard has versatility and size as a cornerback and safety on the perimeter to get up in a receiver's face. He has lots of range and can run. He has great hips. From a Notre Dame standpoint, this is a great perimeter take and an important pickup for the Irish
Tee Shepard is a guy that they're going to have to determine whether he's going to be a big corner or safety.
Shepard Enjoys Event
Christian McCollum
Tee Shepard was hoping his West squad at the Champion Gridiron Kings got its swagger back on Saturday night by beating the Midwest team after losing a tight one to the Southeast squad in the opener.
“We’re going to put it together Sunday,” said Shepard.
Unfortunately for the 6-foot-1, 180-pound Shepard, from Fresno, Calif., and his West teammates, the swagger was gone the next day as they lost consecutive games to eventual champion Matt Davis and his Southwest squad.
Shepard became Notre Dame’s first commitment in the Class of 2012 back in March. He committed to the Irish as a cornerback, but played safety down here.
“The biggest difference between playing safety and corner is at safety it’s more relaxed and easier,” Shepard said. “At corner, you’ve got a lot of jobs to do. Safety is a lot easier.”
Shepard, who just competed at The Opening in Oregon a couple weeks ago, enjoyed the chance to play with and against some of the nation’s other premier prospects, especially his cousin and fellow Notre Dame verbal commitment Deontay Greenberry.
Greenberry started off playing linebacker on defense for the West squad, but ended up changing positions with Shepard and playing safety on day two.
“It’s fun,” he said. “We can compete and we play better when we’re on the same team. It’s just a great opportunity to go against the best of the best.
“They’re not here for no reason. They’re all good, they’re all great. We’re just out here to compete.”
Shepard particularly likes meeting players from other parts of the country.
“They’re cool,” he said. “They have a different mentality, but I’m used to it.”
Shepard plans on getting out to other parts of the country, along with Greenberry, on official visits, but says they’re definitely sticking with the Irish.
“We’re just going to see places we’ve never been,” he said. “We just want to travel the world.
“We’re excited about Notre Dame, 100 percent. Like 200 percent excited.”
Shepard and Greenberry had the chance to meet up with fellow Irish commitments Ronald Darby and C.J. Prosise at the Gridiron Kings as well.
“It’s cool,” Shepard said. “I came to play with these people. It’s cool to hang around with them, it’s like family.”
Shepard is more worried about adding to the Irish’s recruiting class than keeping guys like Darby because he’s sure Darby is going to stay with Notre Dame as well.
“My goal is to get Shaq Thompson,” Shepard said.
The highly-touted safety from California was supposed to attend the Gridiron Kings, but had to cancel because of a leg injury. Shepard plans to stay on him though.
“I just tell him all of the time about Notre Dame. He said he is going to take a visit when we play USC.”
