Let's just go 4-3 in 4 years. Stephon, Day, Jones, and Aaron up front.
Wasn't Notre Dame in a four-man front something like 40% of the time in 2010 anyway?
Per his Twitter:
My top 4 is NOTRE DAME, NORTH CAROLINA, PENN STATE , AND VA TECH. all equal no order. And yes i did decommit from penn state .
Nothing new on his top 4, but not sure if it is discouraging or not him making a point to say they are all equal. Also not sure if I believe him
We're probably better off if that is true*. Give our defense more flexibility to have him on the edge or kicked inside for some minutes at nose.
*Assuming he plays at Notre Dame.
...
and yes i did refer to myself in 3rd person
Understandable. Did your other two persons get released for the weekend also?
What's his twitter?
There's good reason for that. Recruits say that stuff all the time even when everybody knows there is a clear cut favorite.

There's a big difference between a base 3-4 with the Cat OLB in a 3-pt. stance, and a base 4-3. Yes, they have the same number of down linemen, but the responsibilities of the front seven are totally different.
The difference between a 3-4 (or as Neutered says a 5-2), and a 4-3 is the former is an odd front or gap defense. The 4-3 is an even front, or man on defense with angling and all kinds of ****. I have heard echoes from a couple sources, and I am trying to entice TurningPoint to give us a sneak peak under the hood of what the "new hybrid" defense will look like. Inquiring minds want to know.
“Coach Kelly is a good guy,” Jones said. “I didn’t really talk to him for that long, but he’s a pretty good guy. He tells me where I’d be and the possibilities. He sold the academic part very well.”
Sounds like he'll be making another unofficial visit to ND (and some others) before he goes on his officials. He also said he might not use all five. He still wants to decide before his season though. So he very well could be officially visiting ND as a committed recruit. Fingers crossed!
Two unofficials and an official to ND? That's tight.
It would be great if he made ND his last official and came for the USC game. He could commit early in the day, we crush USC, and the rest of our class would follow his lead and commit. It could be a glorious day.
You don't think he is?
