I don't get it. It seems he could be a 3 star based on just his numbers.

6'3" 4.4-4.5 speed and 210lbs

I don't get why he's getting the cold shoulder from the services.

Possibly competition, but that is just a stab in the dark.

I went to school with a guy who was our RB, he had almost 4000+ rushing yards, 40TD's and ran for 400 yards in a late playoff game. The competition wasn't as high as some of the national recruits , so he never even got a peek from anyone. So it seems to depend on competition and possibly how much film the services actually see of a recruit.

If the Wisconson offer doesnt have a timetable attached to it, then I wouldn't be suprised if he waited to decide until he was sure that an ND offer isnt going to happen.

^agree....I don't think he'll pull the trigger until he gets the final verdict from ND.

IDK maybe other teams aren't going after him because they think ND will offer eventually and he's their's to lose so they don't bother...random speculative thought.

I still thinks the staff holds out for guys like Amara Darboh, Ian Thomas, Bryce Treggs guys like that.

Thanks for the compliment Legacy. I was at the 7 0n 7 to look at someone else, but Gehrig Dieter got my attention from the very first play of the first preliminary game, and didn't let off the throttle all day long. Simply put, the kid was phenominal.

Hi Jimmy- great job on the article.

Did you say any reaction from the ND staff when he was making these plays? Were they watching him closely?

Also, did i read correct...he played some D? Safety?

thx

There wasn't really any reaction by the coaches. It's really hard to tell what they were looking at. No doubt in my mind that they saw what I saw though. He played corner also the whole day. Jamming kids all day long.

Dieter is not a slot guy, so I don't know how Treggs and Thomas apply to his situation.

We have to offer this guy. He is the next Shark... local prospect who flies under the radar and ends up being a big time contributor. Sign him up now and then push for a slot guy to complete our WR class.

Agree completely. Especially when Daniels and Farley may be our only true frosh WR if Atkinson stays at RB and we only have two true Sophs in Jones and Smith. Nothing wrong with taking 4 receivers this year in my opinion.

...

Exactly. If Ferguson and Greenberry filled the Big Man slots then we're done. But if we're still looking for another Big Man, I like speed but I like size and soft hands better.

The staff can wait on Dieter. He's pretty much a sure commit if offered.

I would love to have Dieter, because I think he could be very good with this coaching staff coaching him. He is also a local talent and I love to see when local talent gets a shot. But I think, just like when a guy who is not as heralded and people question the commit. Most reply with if the coaching staff sees something that is all that matters. So if they don't offer they must not see what they want, or like it has been said they might just be done with the big guy WR.

Really sucks but I have to go with the coaching staff, they have not steered us wrong yet.

I dub thee Big 'Rig. Now rise and follow in the Shark's mighty footsteps.

LEGIT nickname. Bravo.

I really would love to add Dieter to the team though.

I think he could play any wide receiver position be it outside or inside at slot. Not explosive slot maybe, but he could definitely catch some tough catches over the middle.

There is a thread about him over on the Auburn site, Looks like he might be at Auburn for the camp as well.

Trying to get his name out there. Very good idea. Hope the kid does well and I wish nothing but the best for him.

I hope an offer still isn't out of question for him. We have a whole season to go.

Zeke Pike tweets at every football player that has a twitter account telling them to come to Auburn.

Incredibly annoying he is.

I've heard incredibly overrated as well.
