should be real flippin hard too...if they don't that will do nothing more than prove that they are all about making money and even though they are they are trying to hide that fact.

if tressel goes down, they'd be smart to send the A.D. and president right with him.

I'm curious to know if it would make any difference to you, if you knew that tOSU A.D. Gene Smith is a former ND football player, who was on Ara Parseghian's 1977 National Championship team?

Are you implying the U$C family should still embrace O.J. as a brother?

If the guy was aware of the violations and chose to turn a blind eye, his former ties are irrelevant, and he should be canned with the rest of that inept bunch, and send Ara a letter of apology for turning into a dirtball.

It makes no difference to me. This happened on his watch so he should be held accountable for the actions of his employees. If a CFO of a company is found to have been cooking the books doesn't the CEO go down with him regardless if he knew about it or not?

I agree. I was just wondering if ND fans were willing to give him the benefit of the doubt, based on the fact that he, presumably, is a person of high character and morals, as is in keeping with our (ND fans) perception of the University of Notre Dame and those who have have had the privelege to grace it's hallowed halls.

I was just playing devil's advocate. It's always different emotionally when one of your own is part of something bad.

Perfect example:The Floyd debacle.

A chunk of ND fans throughout the years have been screaming for opposing players heads after pot arrests, DUIs, etc, and now some guys that comprised said chunk are bargaining that a DUI isn't really bad, every kid drinks, etc. to justify why MF should play.

Not everyone of the thousands of persons going through Notre Dame "gets it". It's still mostly their job to grow into an upright person. My freshman year there was a guy across the hall who used to set up a rich kid and take his money in card games on a weekly basis. [I actually believe that the rich kid was happy that anyone wanted to spend the time with him --- overall pathetic]. I wouldn't have trusted that guy as far as I could have thrown him. And I doubt that he was a sterling citizen anytime soon thereafter. So, yeh, take each case as it comes --- just like the rest of life.

After all this is said and done, and OSU gets hammered for all of this, I wonder if any OSU fans are going to send apology letters to Maurice Clarrett.

Getting loaner cars? Lucrative side jobs? Whoops, sorry for black-balling/calling you a vindictive *** Maurice, turns out you were right.

And it wasn't even just Clarrett..

"Another former Ohio State player, linebacker Marco Cooper (2000-01; Spring 2002), corroborated many of Clarett's comments. Cooper, who was suspended from the team following two arrests for drug possession, says he also had bogus landscaping jobs, that a booster helped furnish his apartment, and that he was able to borrow cars from local Columbus dealerships in exchange for signed OSU memorabilia."

Wow, that just sounds familiar.

I put an end to your curiosity by saying....ABSOLUTELY NOT!!!!! This guy is Tressel's "boss" and there is no doubt in my mind he knew about this at the very least soon after Tressel did. imo Tressel is doing his best to not only try to protect his job, but the AD's job as well. Again, if Tress goes the AD better be right behind em.

"O-lie-O"

"O-lie-O"

Bruce Hooley, Fox Sports Ohio, May 26 2011

...

What those who run the university apparently do not fear is continuing to employ a football coach who:

* Lied to the NCAA in September.
* Lied twice more to school investigators in December.
* Attempted to cover up those lies until forced to admit to them by a search of his email records in January.
* Lied at the March 8 news conference to announce he had lied previously.
* Didn't publicly apologize that night for lying, as he was ordered to do by the NCAA.
* Lied again at a speaking engagement six days later.

...

Given how badly things have gone in Tressel's attempted cover-up of his knowledge regarding his players' NCAA rule-breaking, it's fair to wonder how that disastrous March 8 news conference might play out if school officials were given a do-over.

Ohio State didn't get two cents worth of wisdom that night from its $7 million men — Tressel ($4 million), athletic director Gene Smith ($1 million) and school president Gordon Gee ($2 million).

Tressel filibustered like he always does, never owning his egregious behavior. And at one point he lied again, when he said of the April 2010 emails he received informing him of his players' NCAA rules violations: "I probably, no definitely, didn't forward those emails to anyone."

...

The clear message Ohio State is sending by retaining Tressel, despite the lying Ohio State admits he engaged in, is that winning — even if it requires cheating — is preferable to playing by the rules.

...

Youngstown St scandal, Clarett, Smith, Pryor and the 9-1 record over Michigan, O-lie-O, Gee and Trustees fiddle on the Titanic.

And this guy hasn't won a Pulitzer for investigative reporting.

The sign of people getting desperate. No one-not the Sullivan family, not OSHA, not Notre Dame, not the independent investigators-blamed Brian Kelly for that death.

Haters.

Wow. Poor taste also. How can they further victimize the Sullivan family like that, and still sleep?

Want me to nuke the quote?

Yeah. He will find me. I took the effort to find his number. I guess anyone interested can make the same effort. The guy just flew off the handle. Irrational. And I said pretty much nothing other than axe ing him if he was the cartoonist.

Are you afraid he'll make a Bambi cartoon emphasizing what you took from Faline and how?

Go ahead.

Bambi.

Tell them what you did.
