I mean, he looks good on tape but those camp results espn have on him are average at best. Hopefully they're innaccurate...

Justin Ferguson 2012 Football Recruiting Camp Results - ESPN

See my above post. This kid is going to get seriously upgraded as he gets on the national radar more. We are just lucky our staff had the wherewithal to get in on him early when all of the Florida schools were and get him to visit for the B&G Game.

He is also on the ESPNU150 watch list... so I don't know what you're talking about. Will almost certainly be a 4*, 100-250 range recruit when all is said and done. Has a lot of positives but lacks true burner speed/a couple inches to be an elite prospect. Will be very happy to have him on board.

There's 2 Justin Fergusons in the 2012 class at WR. I clicked on the first one I saw and it turned out to be the wrong one. My bad.

Hah it's all good... started typing up my post before the two previous ones were posted lol. Sorry for being redundant... so are we all in agreement that it's pretty awesome our staff got in on a Florida kid early before the rest of nation and picked up a pretty solid prospect? Because I sure am even if there are potentially better prospects on the board.

Yeah, this is exciting. Never hurts to pick up a WR over 6' and over 200 lbs. He's going to be a load to bring down.

Ferguson is offered by Notre Dame, as well as Florida, Florida State, and according to Scout.com, Miami. He's good.

Hopefully we can add a member to this class tomorrow.

Seems the announcement couldn't wait. Commit #6!

Notre Dame football recruiting: Wide receiver Ferguson commits to Irish - southbendtribune.com

Wide receiver Justin Ferguson of Flanagan High in Pembroke Pines, Fla., will commit to Notre Dame, the Miami Herald reported Sunday night.

The 6-foot-2, 205-pound Ferguson had narrowed his list to ND and Florida. Ferguson visited Notre Dame two weeks ago for the Blue-Gold Game.

Ferguson will become the sixth player to commit to Notre Dame's recruiting class of 2012.

I hope we haven't all forgotten about what happend with Davaris Daniels. There were multiple reports saying he was going to commit to Miami including one source that had used quotes that Daniels never used. I'm just saying .... I'll wait to the announcement to get excited.

This is kinda crappy by the sites to proclaim this before he gets to announce for himself.

I will save my congrats for when JUSTIN says he is Irish!

Justin would be a nice addition to the team.

And he'd complement Dorial Beckham-Green well too...*dreams*

But seriously, I'll rage if this is all BS.
What? The Obama assassination, the Bin Laden assasination or the Justin Ferguson potential, almost soon-to-commit to either Florida or Notre Dame? WTF? I guess ignorance is just ignorance. I'm still pissed about the libelous statements posted on another thread.

Going to EE, too (ISD article). This pickup is going to be underrated just because he has been underscouted by the scouting services, but the kid can play.

From Blue and Gold:

Pembroke Pines, Fla., wide receiver Justin Ferguson landed his first out-of-state offer from Notre Dame and it immediately piqued the interest of the Pennsylvania native.

With an interest in possibly returning closer to his home town where his mother resides, he quickly decided that he wanted to take a trip to South Bend and see what the campus has to offer.

Ferguson and his father, Jason, flew to Notre Dame for a three-day trip during the Blue-Gold Game weekend on April 16 with an open mind, but he couldn't deny the immediate connection he felt to the program.

"Notre Dame is No. 1 right now," the 6-2, 205-pound Flanagan HIgh player candidly told BlueandGold.com following the trip.

The following week he notified us of a decision date being set for May 2 with Florida and Florida State rounding out his top three.

The 247Sports three-star recruit had a decision on his hands and waiting things out to see if his emotions from the visit to Notre Dame held firm, and it sounds like they did.

"It's official," the elder Ferguson reported. "He's going to ND."

The younger Ferguson told us this morning that he would be ready to make his decision public this evening, but the father told us in a follow-up call that the family wanted us to release the official news now.

Ferguson reeled in 44 catches for 953 yards and 12 touchdowns as a junior.

Check back later for comments from Notre Dame's No. 6 verbal commitment on why he gave his pledge to the Irish.

From ISD:

Justin Ferguson just wanted to take some time to be sure he was still feeling the same way.

Two weeks after visiting South Bend for Notre Dame’s spring game, the 6-foot-1, 200-pound wide receiver from Pembroke Pines, Fla., (Flanagan High School) decided he did and on Monday morning, his father informed Irish Sports Daily that he has committed to Notre Dame, becoming the sixth member of the Irish’s 2012 recruiting class.

Ferguson represents the first offensive skill commit among a group that also includes California cornerback Tee Shepard, Ohio offensive lineman Taylor Decker, Maryland cornerback Ronald Darby, Texas safety Nicky Baratti and Illinois long snapper Scott Daly.

Ferguson, who runs between a 4.5 and 4.6, caught 44 passes for 963 yards and 12 touchdowns as a junior and tries to pattern his game after Dez Bryant. He chose the Irish over offers from Florida, Florida State, Florida International, Central Florida and Wisconsin.

Ferguson visited the schools in Florida before taking in the Blue-Gold Game on April 16th. He thought about pulling the trigger on the trip, but his mother wasn’t with him and he wanted to wait to see Notre Dame was truly the place he wanted to go. Wisconsin came in with an offer after Ferguson’s Notre Dame trip, but it wasn’t enough to change his mind.

Ferguson plans on getting things in order to graduate in December and enroll at Notre Dame in January to get a head start on his college career.

Gotta love the early enrollees!!!! I think they all see the possibility of early playing time, especially at the skill positions.
