How is Greg Jones still on the board? That kind of surprises me.. barring some injury problem I'm not aware of I remember him being a nightmare to watch against the Irish.

Summary of BK and Mayock would be appreciated!

It's hard to summarize an hour of off-and-on analysis and insight lol

All I will say is that they both seem extremely intelligent and there are scarce few people I like listenning to more. Kelly sounds so much smarter than Butch Davis from UNC and Mayock is MILES ahead of the analysts they've had on ESPN... although I don't mind Kiper.

The fact that Mouton went above Greg Jones = LOL. Especially 3 rounds earlier.

Unfortunately, in far too many cases, in many scouts' eyes:

combine > game film.

Not all the time (last year, Everson Griffin of USC worked out like crazy and had a great combine. But on his film it showed how lazy he was and how many plays he'd take off. They thought he'd go in the first round, but he ended up going in the 4th I believe.), but too many times these scouts drool at what they can do in a unitard over what they can do on film (see: Davis, Al).

Any insight you guys can give us on what BK and Mayock said, if feasible, would be greatly appreciated)...

Basically, BK has talked on Rudolph and Ruffer some as it related to the draft. He also has given a lot of insight on players that he coached against and what he noticed breaking down the game film. He and Mayock have emphasized that in the college game you put players where you need to win ball games... even if that might not be where they project in the NFL... which sometimes makes it hard to evaluate players. He also spoke on the differences between a spread and pro style offense and how the spread can translate very well to the pros sometimes... but it depends on the type of spread. He said that Cam Newton is going to have a huge learning curve because of the type of spread he was asked to play... OR they are going to have to tailor an offense to what he can do. That's just the tip of the iceberg but it is the best I can do... been a very fluid show with how rapidly the draft picks have been made. They've brought on some NFL coaches and players for interviews and such and everyone has seemed to genuinely like Kelly and said some nice things.

In other ND news, Ian Williams is getting hosed. Everyone filled up on DTs in rounds 1-3... there was one early 4th round DT taken and none since. Tough break; some team is going to get a steal in the 6th/7th round.

Outside of Ian do we expect any other nd players to get taken?

I expect Walls to get picked in the 7th round by someone... ran a very good 40. A DT from UCLA just got picked over Ian... missed what BK had to say because I got a phone call... but when I unmuted it I think I caught the tail end of him lobbying for our guy.

Ian still sliding... expecting Denver to take him at 204 if he lasts that long.

Nope, Virgil Green. Suprising though, they like Notre Dame guys in Dove Valley.

If Walls doesn't get picked, it will be shocking to me. The Bears will be getting an email from me if he ends up a undrafted free agent. He is a kid that could develop into a fantastic NFL player in the right situation.

This is unreal. He's been the "best available" for a long time with NO character issues. What gives? Do teams only draft guys with lots of "upside" in these rounds?

it's kind of crazy I've read on twitter that Cam Newton wants the jersey number 2 but that is Clausens number at the moment.

Edit: just seen this was also written on the Clausen thread

Mark my words Clausen gets traded to the Redskins for a 3rd & 5th round pick in next year's draft.

Really pissed Ian hasn't been taken yet and that the Skins just took some joker from Boise State over Walls as a CB in the 7th. Walls got hoses by having to play for our awful coaches for 3 years. Mark my words he will make a roster somewhere.

His year off also stunted his development.

Can't comment on Walls, but perhaps Williams' injury has some deeper repercussions than we're led to believe from a medical standpoint?

anyone think that the cardinals didn't draft a QB because they have an agreement with the eagles to trade kolb for patrick patterson?

Nope. No way Kolb is worth that either lol.

I believe the Cardinals end up with McNabb or Bulger.
