I hope he doesn't get discouraged by not recieving an offer yet. If he continues to work as hard as you say he has, it will pay off for him down the line. Glad he enjoyed his day.

Did you also get a chance to sit down with the coaching staff at all? If so, what kind of vibe do you get as a recruits parent?

He works hard 24/7.
Whole day was excellent. At junior day's, schools give a tour, overview of academics and football. Position coach then talks to you also.
Very professional presentation.

Staff must feel pretty good so far on some other prospects or else he'd been offered by now.

"Professional" seems to be a word that continues to pop up when describing this coaching staff. It's good to hear from a different side of the spectrum. All of us here are very excited for Gehrig and I hope he has a strong senior year and things open up for him. Thanks for the inside knowledge.

Gehrig earned some high praise at the Pitt Badger 7 on 7 (the event where Pike got kicked out):

Biggest riser
Playing on a high-profile team that featured five-star quarterback Zeke Pike, Top247 members Deaysean Rippy and Armani Reaves as well as Penn State tight end commit Jesse James, it would have been easy for Gehrig Dieter to be overshadowed. Instead, Dieter overshadowed his high profile teammates.

Dieter is being recruited as a wide receiver and he was an outstanding target for Pike all weekend. He showed sure hands, rarely – if ever – dropping the ball. He can make both the routine and spectacular catches. Dieter runs good routes, shows very good body control in the air and has an even keel, competitive attitude.

Even more impressive, Dieter may have been one of the top linebackers at the event. At 6-2.5, 215 pounds, Dieter could certainly play linebacker at the next level but he is talented enough to project at wide receiver, safety, linebacker or perhaps even cornerback where he will play for his high school in the fall. He’s just a natural athlete that does a lot well.

With a documented 4.50 40-time, clocked at the Under Armour National Combine in January, expect Dieter’s recruitment to continue to heat up.

Pittsburgh Badger: 7on7 superlatives

Big body with speed to match. Only a JR folks. Offer him up! I honestly am wondering if by chance Kelly has had several talks with him and told him straight up, if so and so doesn't pan out real early in this thing expect an offer over summer into fall? Regardless, I really like this kid and hope he keeps working hard to prove BK he will be ready to go whether its for us or against us.

Keep up the work Gehrig!!

Would love to see him as a safety prospect if he is really that big.

It demonstrates his versatility but I'm curious if his team is that good on defense or that bad for a 6-2 215 4.5 guy to play CB.

He sort of reminds me of Goodman and as of now that is not necessarily a good thing, but being able to play DB will definitely help his stock amongst the BCS schools IMO.

Indeed but 6'2" 215 with 4.5 speed is great safety size for a high schooler. Would really love to see Gehrig get an offer as an athlete. I think a big problem right now is that we have three likely receiver commits in Treggs, Darboh and Greenberry.

We have a little ground to make up on Treggs. He's considered a Cal lean at the moment.

That's what has me slightly confused. So many people are talking about Treggs as a ND lock. Maybe his trip to South Bend will help but he is a heavy Cal lean.

He and his teammate Mr. Perkins are getting a visit tomorrow from a certain OC from Gainsville.

It's not really a battle if we haven't offered him.. I don't know if Florida has or not though.

Offered by Wisconsin pending his SAT scores.

Shouldn't be an issue, just hasn't gotten them back yet.

Still think the staff is waiting on several prospects, which is why he hasn't been offered.

Sucks that he got an offer from Wisconsin. We've got tight numbers this year and it's unlikely he gets an offer unless we whiff on a lot of WR prospects. In another year it might have been different. Same goes for guys like Joe Bolden.

I don't get it. It seems he could be a 3 star based on just his numbers.

6'3" 4.4-4.5 speed and 210lbs

I don't get why he's getting the cold shoulder from the services.

If the Wisconson offer doesnt have a timetable attached to it, then I wouldn't be suprised if he waited to decide until he was sure that an ND offer isnt going to happen.
