hopefuly this kid will have a nice season next year.....Loyola is normally a really good football school, this year was an off year going like 4-6 or soemthing like that. Kodi didn't play that much, but i look for him having a big season next year.

Wait...he hardly played on a 4-6 team as a junior, and we're recruiting him and he's considered a UCLA lean? Huh? Something doesn't add up. I talked to one of Loyola's asst coaches several times this year, and he point blank said that his team just wasn't very good this year. I can't believe a kid being recruited by the likes of UCLA and ND couldn't even play much for a 4-6 football team. Either he was hurt, he was a cancer (the entire staff was new at Loyola so he had a chance for a fresh start), he just isn't very good, or the new coaching staff can't eye talent.

I'll ask around and see what's up, because if we are recruiting this kid I'm sure he is talented enough to play for his h.s. team, esp a 4-6 one.

yeah i know right, maybe the stats i was looking at where from his sophomore year ........ cause i thought to myself something had to be wrong, for us and UCLA to be high on the kid, so i probably looked at the wrong year.

well i found the right stats for his 2010 season ..... hahaha my bad on my first post about this player.

2010 season

offense
31 Catches, 440 Yards, 14.19 Ave., 60 Long, 4 TD

defense
24 tackles, 6 asset., 30 total, 1 sack, 1 fumble cause, 1 fumble rec., and shared time on punt return.

i will say he might not have the numbers this year but he was on a very bad Loyola team that went 3-7 this season. and the only reason they had a bad season was cause they had 4 different quarterbacks this year !!!!!

True....Whitfield didnt have ridiculous stats....but you would have to know the situation at Loyola to understand that.....Kodi and Jerrrry Neuheisal were probably the best tandem in southern california (in my opinion better that wittek/blackwell) well by the third game.......Neuheisal is lost for the season...right after a three touchdown 170 yd effort by Whitfield....our quarterback play was extremely inept after that...in fact we only threw for at total of another 600 yards after that and half of that belnged to whitfield....they focused then on running the ball with Jared Baker....where kodi showed himself to be the best blocking WR in California....a great punt return specialist and a great Safety......He is an amazing, smart, tough, fast athlete that runs crisp routes and catches anything thrown in his direction....He currently Stars for Keyshawn Johnsons 1925 passing league team......and he absolutely destroyed the best DB's in the west at the Nike camp at USA He has been offered by Duke, Arizona State, Washington, Northwestern and UCLA.

We will be seeing him in the fall. Per ESPN:

"(Whitfield is) going to play right now, right off the bat," Stanford head coach David Shaw told Tom FitzGerald of the San Francisco Chronicle. "He's been outstanding all training camp. He's picked up the offense faster than any receiver that we've had since we've been here."

Andrus Peat and Kyle Murphy are vying for the starting LT job. Looks like both will play. I like the idea of freshmen tackles going up against our line.

plus it will knock a year of eligibility off their belts....rather play against them when they're babies as opposed to 1st rounders

I hate the fact in three years we're dealing ridiculous beasts, but let's get em.
