I labeled this thread as such, so please don't bash me if you don't like sharing rumors about this whole pandemic of violations in CFB. To the newest revelation:

"Charles Robinson, one of the investigative reporters for Yahoo! Sports, was just interviewed on the Waddle and Silvie show on ESPN Radio 1000 in Chicago. He stated that there are two additional high-profile stories he is working on, on which will break within the next few weeks and another that looks like it will break in August. Mr. Robinson was prodded fairly hard by Tom Waddle, but would not divulge any individual or institutional names. He was asked to rate the Tressel story on a scale of 1-10 scale, and gave it an 8. Mr. Robinson rated the story to be broken this month as a 6-7, and gave the late-summer story a 10-rating, without hesitation."

*Take it for what it's worth, just thought I'd share.

The part about "10, without hesitation" makes me think it has to be a traditional power with a huge fan base, and the violations are SMU-worthy. Most likely someone is fishing for readers though. Either way, this has been a crazy off-season so far,

I t is just crazy how every off season takes on a life of its own. It is almost like there is a theme every year, and it gets figured out every March what that topic will be. Last season arrests and new coaches. This season is all about cheaters. Gotta love the down time.

And how crappy would it be if you tune out the madness (like rational people do, not me lol) for the entire off-season, and then a huge bombshell was dropped in August literally a few weeks before the season began? That would be awful....

I'm thinking MICH while Rich Rod was there.

Or more on OSU, which would be fantastic as well.

Case Western Reserve: that merger of Case Tech with Western Reserve when I was in grad school was suspicious. AND, could BOTH of them have lost so many games without SOME funny business going on??? And, NON-scholarship!! HoHo!! I saw a few guys with muscles and beards when I was there. So that's that!

North Carolina as the first story. The stuff going on there was kind of swept under the rug after a couple weeks, but too much sketchiness from John Blake for something more not to come out. That guy has been a walking violation for 20 years or more.

Second, gotta be Auburn, right? It's so obvious we don't even want to think it's obvious anymore. Yahoo! is probably waiting for the FBI to finish up its investigation. I just can't see any other school being a 10 besides Auburn. Maybe Oregon, but it's not like they've recruited that great. Auburn went from mediocre recruiting to stellar recruiting within a month's time (paying players) and has institutionalized cheating perhaps like no one else in CFB. I have very little doubt that it wasn't made abundantly clear by the powers-that-be at Auburn that Chizik was coming back to the Plains and they were going full speed ahead with the rule breaking to rival Saban at Alabama. It all just makes too much sense.

I'd like to agree with you, but both those schools have already been exposed. I'm thinking it's going to be more of a suprise.

It'll interesting to find out what the 6-7 story is but I'd bet $$$$ the 10 is Auburn.

What are the odds though? Yahoo has been doing a great job putting together these stories but they are never breaking brand new stories. There's always a little bit of dirt that comes out first.

Look at it this way, how could they already know something is a 10 (presumably that includes sanctions or something of that nature) without anyone else knowing or anything leaking first?

Unless Yahoo has explicity said it's going to be a brand new surprise I doubt it will be. With all the dirt on Auburn I find it hard to believe that in August they are going to be like, "surprise look at all this stuff we uncovered that no one else did about Stanford!!"

From what I remember, Yahoo was in on USC from the very beginning.

This. Yahoo! started the whole thing against USC about 5 years before the NCAA leveled sanctions. Unlike most news sources, Yahoo! is both great at digging for the dirt and maintaining sterling journalistic integrity. Anything printed by Charles Robinson or Dan Wetzel you can take as gospel.

THat could be true as well...Or maybe the big news isn't just AUB, but another school that was in on the bidding war for him?? Could be an Alabama or who knows?? Just bidding on him is a serious sanction as well...
