dskoo: I have been a fairly unemotional poster here and try to be moderate and fair, but for me, your posts on this create a disconnect. You intimate that you have nothing against the University [which is very dear to my heart, so I am biased], but your revisiting of this issue [with admitted "skepticism" about the handling of it by the University] cannot be interpreted from my distance as anything but a desire to see some mud smeared on Notre Dame.
If the latter were not true, why would one continue to bring this up on a football forum of Notre Dame fans?? At the VERY least it constitutes what the British gentleman would call "bad form". Golden's suggestion about writing ND's president and making civilized inquiries is a good one. It should accomplish whatever it is you are trying to do, and would have the pleasant side-effect of leaving the rest of us alone to pursue our hobby interest while being more patient than you are [to say nothing about trusting] about the University's actions in the Declan Sullivan matter.
I can readily imagine that you in fact dislike Notre Dame, for whatever your reasons may be. I and almost everyone else on this bulletin board like "our" school very much. Surely a person with an Ivy League education, and quite proud of himself, must realize that, and consequently realize how poorly this group would react to your seeming obsession---in fact the easiest way to explain such social obtuseness would be to say that you are not unaware at all, but are doing this for exactly that reason---to infuriate people for your enjoyment. I, of course, do not accuse you of such low motivation. I only point out what you have seemed like to others.
Wishing you the best with your retirement, as I have enjoyed mine. And hoping that you can find things to believe in on the positive side of life. You will not believe it, but I mean that last comment sincerely [as I did all the others].
