Let's say Scarlett commits...does that hurt our chances of landing Lynch seeing how he seems to not be fond of FSU recruiting multiple DE's??

That would give us two DE commits not including Lynch or Ishaq.

Not trying to be a ****, but we're starting have an epidemic of people not reading posts and repeating questions. Scarlett has been talked about as a potential MLB run stopper and would likely play there unless, for some reason, we got thin at DE and coaches thought we really needed him there.

Lynch is the guy we want at DE. If we get him and Tuitt, Scarlett will probably be molded into a MLB. Think a Carlo with better measurable athleticism.

Ishaq is a LB...

I've read the posts...I don't see Scarlett as a LB, that's just me. And Ishaq at LB will turn into him with his hand in the ground more than in coverage much like Fleming, so basically he turns into a DE. That leaves Tuitt and Lynch battling with Lewis-Moore (who's proven to be productive) for playing time.

Hahahahaha omg has anyone looked at the forecast for this week? It's supposed to snow 6 out of the next 7 days and not get out of the teens and low 20s.

God has a cruel sense of humor... but at least we will know what Aaron thinks of snowball fights by the time he is done. Are any of the students going to be back on campus that weekend? When do classes start, the 18th?

I don't think dorms open until Sunday, the 16th, so almost nobody will be on campus when he arrives.

There is a good chance that if he gets in Friday, Lynch won't get out for a while based on the snow. Someone should tell him to just bring everything he needs with him to start class. :)

Florida is a legit option as he considered them after the initial decommit but with the depth on the DL and the complications trying to EE there.... I don't know I just can't see it happening. Wouldn't blame Muschamp & Co. for trying though.

I am getting a feeling that Miami and Florida are going to become bigtime players with Mr Lynch.

From who and where? Florida really doesn't make any sense at all and he already checked them out. Miami... well, Miami would be interesting if they could get into the mix.... but why weren't they on his list before/why would he have interest now?

Neither makes any sense. Tom Loy mentioned both schools in a tweet. But, he is the same guy who said that Lynch was a lock to FSU. So, who knows?

Island Coast's Aaron Lynch to visit Notre Dame | news-press.com | The News-Press

Down to UF, Miami, and ND

— Aaron Lynch is going to give it one more chance with his first love.

The Island Coast High School defensive end will take an official visit to Notre Dame Friday, after de-committing from Florida State following Saturday’s U.S. Army All-American Bowl.

In a text message Monday, Lynch said the reason for his switch was that he didn’t feel 100 percent comfortable with his decision to join the Seminoles. He also said that he is no longer considering Florida State and that he is also considering Florida and Miami.

The 6-foot-6, 250-pound Lynch originally made a verbal commitment to Notre Dame last summer but then decided to switch allegiances to Florida State in November.

“I just want him to make a decision that makes him happy,” Island Coast coach Joe Bowen said. “It’s unfortunate but I know some people are going to bash him but he’s a 17-year-old kid. I’d rather him de-commit then go someplace and be miserable.’’

Lynch, who has already graduated from island Coast, plans to enroll in the spring semester at whichever school he ultimately chooses. Notre Dame and Miami don’t start classes until Jan. 18, while Florida starts Wednesday.

I think Miami and Florida are listed simply in case something goes wrong on this visit. Maybe he'll hate the snow or the cold... maybe he won't have fun because no students will be there... maybe he'll hit a snag with admissions (if any of the BS on the FSU board has an ounce of truth). If everything goes well, I expect him to start school on Tuesday. If it doesn't, I expect him to no longer be an EE and take a longer look at both Miami and Florida and decide on one of those two.

Then again, the flip side could be that he isn't planning on being an EE anymore and will simply be taking looks at all three schools. Either way... let's hope the bad weather forecasted isn't a huge factor here. I would certainly hope it wouldn't be at this point.

If he was concerned about playing time at FSU, how could he consider Florida? The situation there is just as bad if not worse.

As for Miami, they have a new coach and we just beat them senseless. And his 'sibling' chose us over them just about a year ago. Get him on campus and then lock him in a classroom until Monday morning when the class starts.
