I always like stealing players from Stanford. I am still upset that we lost Lueders to those darn trees last year

I think we made up for it with Tai-ler Jones. Also, we haven't stole Amir yet. There is still a long way to go until NSD and he is still a Stanford commit.

Not sure he's going to be able to leave campus. Chicago is getting hammered by wind and snow at the moment.

I was in the front row for the ND-Gonzaga game last night and I think I may have seen Carlisle there.

Pure speculation, but it was close to his skin tone and he was sitting in the third row behind the Gonzaga bench. He was wearing an ND hat and had what seemed to be his dad and maybe a brother with him. Before the game started he walked to the athlete section and was chatting with Chris Stewart. However there were no football coaches around him.

Please don't take this as fact, I'm just reporting what I saw. I can in no way confirm this as of now. One of my buddies pulled out his iPhone and we checked this guy against Carlisle's rivals picture but we couldn't 100% confirm it was him.

If it was actually Amir, then yes he seemed to be enjoying himself. The atmosphere was really good for a game before finals week. The students packed it in and made a lot of noise.

If anybody can confirm he was at the game, then I would say that was definitely Carlisle.

So does he become more important now that Shuler is going to Rutgers?

Amir's importance is largely independent of who else we get. He's versatile enough to play WR/RB/some sort of Percy Harvin type hybrid. At the end of the day, he may be the most valuable offensive weapon in the class.

I thought the same thing he reminds me of a Harvin/Riddick type player.

Carlisle, Ishaq Williams and Scarlett are my dream list. If we get those three, call it a class and let's go win some football games.

Yes, we really need 2 bigs to play on the line (and figure out offense and defense later).

This has been a weird recruitment since his visit. He's been mum about everything since his visit to ND. I personally think we land him. Obviously, Harbaugh plays a huge factor in his decision. I still think he likes the idea of him playing the slot. He's a dynamic player. I hope it's ND, but there's really not much to go off of recently.

I think he is waiting for all of the dust to settle with the coaches and players after bowl season. I wouldn't expect a decision until some time in January... if ever. Remember, status quo is he just sticks with his commitment.

Almost as weird as the Michigan coaching situation...No word that Rodriquez is their man. I can see H. wanting to stay with Stanford through the Rose Bowl, perhaps waiting for a NFL job or that he has an arrangement with UM. Of course, that screws a lot of their (current UM) coaching staff who may be looking for jobs.

Kelly's offense would look a lot more desirable from Carlisle's viewpoint than Harbaugh's IMO.

I think you are right. I think he is evaluating everything at the moment and waiting everything out. If Harbaugh stays at Stanford, then I would expect him to probably stick with his original commitment, however if Harbaugh leaves, then I see us very likely landing this kid.

WOW that could be a win win situation 4 me. Living near houston now I would love for Harbaugh to come coach the Texans, and I would REALLY REALLY love to land this kid. I've said it before that I like this kid.

Announcing his college choice on the 15th.

Explosive Carlisle was a blur for TKA - San Jose Mercury News

Couple of things:

1. Why would you announce your college choice if you're picking the school you're already 'committed' to?

2. Harbaugh will make his 'Decision' after the bowl game, and if he bolts as expected, then so will Carlisle (and many others). And Carlisle will choose ND on the 15th, guaranteed, if that were to happen.

Any other Stanford boys we want, should Harbaugh be boning out?
