Dayne would be stupid to go to the NFL this year he really didn't do that much for the scouts. And with Luck,Mallet,Locklear he would be lucky to be a 3rd round pick.
Way too early to speculate on this kind of stuff. We have no idea who will start out of Crist, Rees, Golson or Hendrix, and trying to pick transfers based on who might start is next to impossible. The only thing we do know is that Massa won't be starting.

Crist wouldn't even get drafted.

I agree with that.
Crist wouldn't even get drafted.
These are the only facts that I can determine that make up my woefully incomplete set of speculation bases: 1). Crist has great physical tools to be some kind of quarterback somewhere. He has not yet shown [me, anyway] that he has the "emotional" tools to remain "ice" in the heat of the action. Maybe he has that in him; it is not yet apparent to me. He is also, as much as I and everyone else loves Dayne and roots for him, undeniably fragile---three times already he has gone down. Any coaching staff that I was part of would be extremely concerned about all of this;
2). Tommy Rees, God bless him [and I root for him at least as hard as I root for Dayne ], seems to lack certain quarterback skills [most noticeably when he throws ugly wobblers for no apparent pressured reason, and gets balls constantly and dangerously tipped]. He DOES seem to have the emotional base to be a quarterback though. One makes no assumptions as to whether he can polish up the rest of his game or not. Once again, if I were on a coaching staff, I'd have to be concerned;
3). Hendrix and Massa. All I will have seen of these guys is in running the scout team in practice. I would have nothing to choose between them except that Hendrix apparently "beat out" Massa for that job, and was deemed more ready by Kelly to be the third-team QB when Crist went down. The only "fact" that slipped out was the one quote from Kelly as to how fast Hendrix gets the ball out of his hand; [if I had to take an intuition away from all of this, it would be that quote, as Kelly rates that particular talent extremely high];
4). Golson may turn out to be the greatest QB in ND history [and I hope he is], but all we know so far is that he is a great high school QB who might fit Kelly's system. We also know that the staff thinks he's real good or they wouldn't be bothering. AND, we know that the staff isn't comfortable with what they've got now [as any slam dunk anyway] for the same reason.
Bottomline: I believe on this topic that Kelly is not much better off than we are on IE in being able to see his future QB situation clearly. [and I think that is almost NEVER true of our/IE "status" on "seeing"]. I believe that he is pursuing Golson because he honestly believes that he MIGHT be the best QB on campus even next year. At the same time I believe that he hasn't drawn a line through anyone's name yet, including Luke Massa's.
so are we writing off Brissett now?

even if he can run im not sold on a qb that is struggling to be 6'.... wonder what the average height of his high school o-line is?
Michael Vick is 6'. So is Drew Brees. Thanks for playing though.
