Not all 4s and 3s are equal in terms of grade so there are highs and lows in each category. Kinda like how a B- isn't as good as a B+, but they're both Bs.

AWESOME!!! This has definently been the high point of the last several days! What an awesome young man. I think everyone on here can appreciate how hard this kid worked and how bad he wanted to come to Notre Dame. He worked his butt off and this just shows that good things can happen if you work hard enough for it. This class is amazing! We have brought a butt load of talent this class, and even if we didn't get one more commitment..., I would be elated with this class! Ok..., so I am a greedy bastard and I want Lyons and maybe French or Drew.., but I am happy with what we have got this year!

Vernon Hills senior wide receiver DaVaris Daniels, Illinois' top-ranked college prospect, committed to Notre Dame on Tuesday.

Daniels chose Notre Dame over Miami.

On the season, Daniels (6-foot-2, 170 pounds) has helped Vernon Hills outscore its opponents 240-0 in a variety of ways. He's completed 4 of 6 passes for 71 yards and one touchdown, caught 10 passes for 277 yards and four touchdowns, rushed for 203 yards and five touchdowns, returned one punt for a touchdown, intercepted three passes and scored one defensive touchdown.

Vernon Hills coach Tony Monken had predicted Daniels' decision.

"I think Notre Dame is out front," Monken said last week. "They always have been. There was a day or two he wavered. They're a great fit for him."

Daniels is the son of Washington Redskins defensive lineman Phillip Daniels.
