Do I ever bet that were gonna win? LOL. I got 140 mill that says we lose this game too. I'm patiently waiting for THAT vbookie event to come out.

My thoughts exactly.. Maybe I should start putting some vbucks up against ND. It's a win always..

I have been a Fighting Irish fan for a long time. I did not go to the school, I am not that smart, but I feel that my passion runs as deeply as any alum. This season has started out as a bit of a disappointment, but in reality, I think that we all new it was going to be a rough start this year. If we win our next two games, and stand at 3 and 3 I think it was a successful start to the season. Brian Kelly is the man, and he will bring us to glory, eventually. BC is a great starting point. They are a very good, yet beatable rival. If the Irish can put together 4 quarters of football and put this game behind them, things may start to look up. ND 31 - BC 17. Go Irish!

That's the spirit. I missed a good chunk of mine in 05 cause of the USC game. The dance and party afterwords blew.

The '73 USC game was the day of my older brother's wedding. The bride and her family didn't understand/appreciate football or much of anything else. There were no TV's in the reception hall. Our next door neighbor, a guy of about 60 who was well over 6 ft. tall and had pure white hair kept turning up missing. We all suspected he had found someplace to watch the game but he wouldn't let on.

He came back in right after Eric Penick's 85 yd TD run in the 3rd quarter. He was red in the face, out of breath and sweating. He couldn't keep a secret any longer and blurted out an update on the game. Even though I was only 12, I was at the roadhouse down the street with my parents' blessing to watch the rest of the game as was most of the rest of the "Irish" (by heritage and fandom) contingent from the reception.

I watched the Sugar Bowl that New Year's Eve with the next door neighbor and my father. The Tom Clemens pass out of the end zone to seal the victory as time ran down is still one of my favorite all time ND moments.

As nuts as my sister-in-law turned out to be, I should have skipped the whole reception.

24-7 Notre Dame. BC has a pathetic offense and that will be the only thing that saves us.

I really hope that we win this game against BC. It is a primetime game and could really help with our mental state. Plus, on the selfish side, I will be at the Pitt game. I think it will mean alot more to our season if we go into Pitt week 2-3 as opposed to 1-4. .500 after Pitt is a great start. We can still salvage this season and a bowl victory. Go Irish!

It's very hard to go into College Park and come out with a win. However, aside from Purdue, Boston College is the weakest opponent we have faced this year. We may be 1-3 but we are battle tested. We played MSU in a tough enviornment and almost came out with a win. I think we'll show up focused and with a sense of ergency.

We're going to win this damn game, guaran-damn-teed. The players look themselves in the mirror this week, accept the coaches' challenge, and man the eff up. It happens this week, and it springboards us into a Pitt win and a 6-3 record going into the Utah game.

It starts right now. I'm calling 7-4 going into the SC game. Call me crazy, but the nation will start talking about this team by the end of the year as an up and coming team. I'll ignore college football shows and podcasts this week as they will talk all the crap they need to to get ratings (and we somewhat deserve it after a 1-3 record against a monster sked), but after the BC win things will start to turn.

We will win this game handily. BC's offense is that bad.

Hopefully we light it up in Boston...

I dont think we'll "light it up" against their defense. I think its going to be your typical, ugly, dirty, and hard hitting rivalry game. It's a game that we NEED to have and we really should have. Boston College has struggled all year, even against weak opponents. If we show up and play like we did in East Lansing, we should walk out with our first road win.

A third of the way into the season and your looking to next year? Yeah, I would say that "over-drive" is an understatement. It is very early in the season, and the most difficult part of our schedule is behind us. There is still a lot of growth and a lot of improvement to be had in this season. Going to a bowl game means 15 more practices for this young team. Thats a big deal. Thats a whole additional spring camp. When your implementing new systems, 15 practices really helps a young team. I think 7-5 is very realistic, as I did coming into the season.

BC wont be starting Shinskie so their offense should be that much worse. If we dont win this game, we have serious problems.
BC Will Change QBs

Not really. Shinskie is horrible. It'll be Chase Rettig starting moat likely if you ask me. He can actually put touch on a pass longer than 5 yards. Gives a new dimension to the offense. Still he's a true FR so who knows what we will get his first game. Montel is very good and the WRs are pretty good this year. The O-Line is streaky but alot of people think they were sending a message against VT with there play letting the staff know Shinskie isn't the answer. The D is very good and we actuay have a K this year. Honestly don't know what to expect this weekend. I'm guessing a low scoring game around 17-14 or so.

We're not losing to teams with average to bad offenses.

BC has Montel Harris and then.........................................?

WR's are not that fast so I think we can play them tight and not get beat deep. Neither QB they played again VT is very good. If we shut down Montel we win this game by +14.

Depends which WR you are talking about. Momah has the size and is good in the redzone. Lee and Amidon are burners. Unfourtunately Amidon can't stop from tripping over himself. Coleman is going to be a stud but he disappears at times and other times is dominant. Like I said earlier neither of the QBs that played in the VT will be playing. They aren't burning Rettig's RS unless he is starting and Spaz said he is playing.

I agree with you that Shinskie is not amazing but he is the best quarterback on the team. The fact of the matter is, your offense as a whole is terrible. I agree with you that your defense is stout and that is really the only way this game stays close. I expect it to be low scoring as well, but Boston College has failed to put up adequate points against some pretty lousy defenses this year.
