Irish made his recent cut

Four-star talent Anthony Rabasa (Miami/Columbus) informed ESPN affiliate Web site IrishSportsDaily.com that Miami-FL, Florida, Florida State, LSU, Notre Dame and UCLA are his six favorites.

"I thought about it, and those are the six best schools that I have school wise, degree wise, and football wise, and schools that could possibly fit me the best when I go to college," he said.

Nebraska, Maryland, Pittsburgh, South Carolina, South Florida, Tennessee, Texas Tech and Wake Forest are among Rabasa's other scholarship offers.

The ESPNU 150 prospect registered 80 tackles and 10 sacks during his junior campaign.

3 * #14 WDE per Irish Illustrated

4* #10 DE per Espn

3* #53 DE per Scout

I love a consensus, but then we'd have nothing to discuss right?

When you consider that Rivals separates WDEs from SDEs while the other two lump them together that puts the ranking at:
#28
#10
#53

Rabasa would most likely be a CAT OLB for us. The same position that Fleming plays and Burton was recruited for, fyi. He is a bit small to play the DE spot in the 3-4.

I think his weight will packed on and he will fit in nicely at the weak side DE. Guys on that side do not need to be as big, 6'2" 6'3" is ok. Wujciak is 6'3" and you have to think he is also a WDE recruit. I feel the guys we are going after at OLB are French, Rodgers, and DePriest.

I get the feeling it's Miami, then way back ND, then UF, FSU. the only one with a outside shot is ND. I got nothing to back this up, just get the feeling.

Scout's warming up to him. They've bumped him up all the way to #51.

His visit to ND is 2 days before Lynch and mom.

DE is a much need for the Irish, I think coach Kelly and his staff are addressing the need quite well.

I believe the Irish are in much better position than most think will Rabasa. He has a great offer list, but some of those offers like F$U and UF may be actionable.

What do you mean by actionable?

He means they may not be actionable, meaning that despite the fact that Rabasa has offers from them, they may not accept his commitment.

Similarly, while Rabasa has a verbal offer from ND, he does not currently have a written (actionable) offer. He may be given an actionable offer during his upcoming visit, but that remains to be seen.

This style of giving recruits verbal offers and then written ones when they visit is the new norm adopted by Kelly's staff.

Thanks. I guess it really is the best way to do it. It shows the recruit that their is interest while and allows the recruit to return the love by visiting and picking up their GOLDEN TICKET.

According to Scout, he doesn't have an official offer right now. He's coming at the end of the month in the hopes of getting an offer. Should he get an offer...ND would be in good shape..
