WOW!! This is huge!! I expected Justice today and maybe Lynch by Monday. Never saw this coming this quickly. This is official??

"Offical" doesn't come until LOI's are returned on NSD. However it has been published by the Miami Herald.

Rabasa, a 6-3, 235-pound defensive end, told The Miami Herald
Friday he had committed to Notre Dame University
.

Thanks BGIF for the big update. Thats amazing news for us. This would certainly qualify for the biggest recruiting weekend in Kellys ND career. Especially if he can round out the weekend with Lynch's commit tomorrow. What a great weekend to be an Irish fan!

Welcome! according to the article, he told the writer that he committed. Let's hope the writer didn't do what they did to DaVaris Daniels.

If true, another great pick-up for ND in the state of Florida. He's lower rated by Rivals and Scout because they base their rankings on how kids look in a 4-3, in which he'd be a tweener. In a 3-4, he's perfect for an OLB, so it really is a great get for the Irish. Hopefully it's true!

EDIT: And it is true! Thanks BGIF!

He may have simply been ready now.

He also may have factored in the limited number of slots left. Who's been on campus lately, who's there now, and who's supposed to be coming in August.

Tick tock!

Anthony Rabasa picks Notre Dame over Sunshine State powers

Anthony Rabasa picks Notre Dame over Sunshine State powers

Per Bill Hodge's On The Trail
7/30
Four-star defensive end Anthony Rabasa (Miami/Columbus) committed to Notre Dame, ESPN affiliate Web site IrishSportsDaily.com reports.

The 6-foot-3, 220-pound prospect selected the Irish over Florida, Florida State, Miami-FL. He also considered LSU and UCLA.

Wake Forest, Rutgers, Maryland, Texas Tech, Minnesota, Pittsburgh, South Florida, Duke, Nebraska, N.C. State, Purdue and South Carolina were among his other scholarship offers.

Oh there's no doubt that was a factor. With Justice and Lynch being virtual locks for the weekend, he might have felt the heat and realized that the time was now. Our defense will no be questioned in the years to come. I realize we still have some work to do in the secondary but our front seven is going to be able to stuff the run. That will enable us to drop an extra man in coverage to help a weak secondary. We've got speed all over the field. Very pleased with the three pick-ups from the weekend but the selfish side of me still would love to see a thread entitled Wayne Lyons (Notre Dame soft verbal) haha. We need one more big name to go along with Hardy in that secondary. Doran Grant from all sources is a Buckeye in waiting. Atkinson would even fit the bill for me. Agreed?

When Lyons sees fellow Floridians Rebasa, Burton, and Prestwood on board he may hop on the northbound caravan.

What a good feeling for Irish fans. Not just the commit of an amazing 4* athlete, but look at the teams we beat out in the race. The whole state of Florida along with teams like LSU and Oklahoma. This is not only a big catch for ND, but it also sends a message to the "recruiting powerhouses" that Notre Dame is a force again.
