CW on his Twitter acct:

NDHFC: Good morning. The team had a great time at my house last night as we had a big barbeque.

NDHFC: It was a beautiful night and no one was in a hurry to leave. They ate tons of food, went swimming, and had a home run hitting contest.

NDHFC: Several balls went out, but Jimmy Clausen gets the award for farthest homerun. I was surprised to see Armando Allen easily put one out too.

NDHFC: The players left at dusk and it appears that the team camaraderie is at an all time high.
Yes, I know it's summer and all these things should be taken with a grain of salt. But it's July, and there's not a lot going on, so I take all good news happily. It looks like the team is getting along great from everything I read, and their confidence is really high.

This is from Brian Smith's Twitter:

@BCSmith58) I just finished one of the hardest team workouts ever, and we responded like a real team should. Big things from the irish this year!!

"My initials are BCS. My birthday is January 8th, The day the national championship is played. Its my destiny! Go Irish"

Like I said, it's summer only, but it's still good to hear...

To here the team is 1 and not seperated like in the past is excellant news. It will want to make you play so much harder to not let your brother down beside you. This year is going to be exciting.

Brian also twittered this which I thought was cool...

"I honestly do not think there is a better coach than Jon Tenuta. I am Brian Smith and i approve of this message."

I hope that the team is close knit, but didn't we hear the same thing after last years bbq?

Seems like great news to me, no opportunity to build camaraderie is ever wasted due to what time of year it is. I love hearing stuff like this. Kickoff in 50 days!

Its good to have the team together.... not that i dont think the teams werent together in the past. The post i liked the most was the one were smith said "i just finished one of the hardest team workouts ever, and we responded like a real team should." As long as its true and they keep working their asses off, all of the ND nation will be seeing the results very soon.

Charlie's telling 'ya 'tween the lines that this team has speed!

Alford and Verducci have revamped (found) the running game!

Even Jimmy can take it to the house this year!

Remember back during the Willingham-era, where ND faithful made a big stink out of the "chain defense" ... Derek Curry used to carry a huge chain onto the field, and the players would hold it, to represent their togetherness. Camaraderie was supposed to be at an all time high back then, too. And it didn't get us anywhere.

Or that Jimmy and Armando should think about changing sports.

Somehow Marijuana should be thrown in the mix. Pizza + Toppings= results of Marijuana use???

Or a fried egg & bacon sandwich, heavy on the mayo (on whole wheat toast to have it qualify as "health food"), with some version of Ramen noodles (prepared with half the recommended water) as a first course. Maybe Bisquick blobs with chunks o' Land O' Lakes Butter (disclaimer: I live in Minnesota) as a side.

Wait, wait, wait ... how did we get on the topic of smokin' rope and the munchies in the first place? Oh, hell - who cares.

Camaraderie + talent + effective coaching > Camaraderie + talent - formulaic coaching.

Comraderie does matter. When the team plays for each other better things happen then when players play for themselves. One thing that is often missed when talking about next year is cinfidence. Reading Brian Smiths tweet and watching intreview with Hayseed and EJ, this team believes they are good. They may not say it outright, but the guys believe they have a National Title contender.

I only follow one person on twitter, at thats NDHFC.

CW was tweeting during the HR derby, which was kinda cool..

I started on twitter because I recently got a G1 phone; Installed the Twidroid applet and figured I should follow someone; I found CDub's and thats all I have so far. If I didnt get this phone, or an iphone, I never would have done anything with twitter.

but I still think that twitter is going to a die quick sudden death; its a fad, dont believe the hype. some high profile person is going to lose a court ca$e partially based on 'evidence' published on twitter; and that will be the end of twitter. Publishing your thoughts in public is going to get ppl in trouble eventually. I have also read that 10percent of the user base is responsible for 90percent of all tweets. that means most of the ppl on twitter are looky-lous, and curious one-timers.

I've known TDHeysus for a long time, and he said the exact same thing about the Internet, MySpace, and HDTV.

There's a 100% chance that I made that up...

Heh Twitter got some kid out of an Egyptian prison, so its not all bad.
But I don't see the point of constantly posting your life every minute of the day. Frankly if I was the criminal element I would find people in my area and find out when they were out of the house...

HI GOING CAMPING ALL WEEKEND == Feel free to rob me blind.

Twitter is dumb.

Not near as stupid as that NFL team (Panthers or Jags, can't remember) that put an axe and a tree stump in their locker room for their "keep chopping wood" motivation. Lost a kicker for the season after he cut his foot open.
