It's true Shane could've said, "Some people seem to approach fashion and sexuality in a way that is socially, psychologically, and spiritually counterproductive," but I imagine he would've failed at generating both laughs and discussion of the topic. His whole career is being a beer-swilling truth-teller willing to upset the dysfunctionally 'sensitive.'

As to guidance, I imagine Jesus would turn inward rather soliciting opinions of local priests. I respect that.

I don't find Gillis even remotely funny. His humor is low IQ and lazy. There is a an audience for that though and he is capitalizing on it. Good for him. I thought he was much more entertaining in the Bud Light commercials. The fact that he's an ND fan doesn't mean much when assessing his skills.

I really like Dan Levy, but he also said in that diatribe that women were superior to men. After that, I wasn't interested in whatever he had to say. Talk about offensive. And also incredibly stupid. Claiming one gender is superior to the other makes it kind of hard to be offended by a joke. Imagine saying straight people were superior to gays. White people are superior to people of any color. Rich people are superior to poor people. When you say "women are superior human beings", you open the door to all those other things and you can't be offended when they are said.

I found George Carlin to be incredibly funny. Way different though. Sharp, smart and thought provoking. Gillis is none of that in my opinion.
