Or get Eddie Howe out of Newcastle. The English FA are going to protect the "Big Six" and Newcastle can't afford to keep their players because of the bullshit rules that only apply to the other 14 teams. Howe has probably run his course there. Won them a trophy and has done well overall.

Lee Carsley has played and managed in England his entire career. I think he'd be a better option than Tuchel. Certainly cheaper.

They're very different.

England's media is sensational and hyperbolic.

Italy is more intense and everyone is a tactical expert. Italy has won a Euros and World Cup in this Millennium. England has never won a Euros ever.

Italy is basically in a rebuild. They have not qualified for the last three World Cups. It can't get much worse. England has been knocking on the door and are hosting the 2028 Euros. They need to win something now.

Do you guys think weather played much of a role in the game? It looked like England was worn down. 3 pm game in Atlanta seemed like a brutal draw for the English team.

Isn't the whole problem that it needs to be top down? Without changing the MLS structure to pro/rel and turning youth players into potential assets I just don't see how anything changes with the club model. No matter what US Soccer tries there is no scenario where everything is "free."

Free? No but it would be nice if things were more affordable with people’s time and money. This is not only a soccer thing but most sports. Part of the problem is that rec sports are terrible (at least by me) so you’re forced to do the club/travel thing even if your kid is average. Would be nice if things were a little more tiered based on ability and time/money commitment people want to spend. I’m glad my kids have aged out of youth sports.

By far, the best sport Is football. Other than 7v7, they haven’t figured out a way to cost you a bunch of money. So glad my son loved that sport the most. High school football is awesome and you can actually get a full ride scholarship.

Soccer would be much improved if the refs took a cue from football refs and stopped letting players argue every situation. All it takes is to spray yellows to every player the first time they get barked at and I bet that shit would stop real quick.
