Never saw Pulisic play a poorer half. Several other guys were half-there as well. Balogun looked OK+ like himself and there was that blast for Tillman, but otherwise .... Antonie Robinson also seems sleepwalking. Dest actually for me at least was hustling hard. Belgium had a plan to double on him. ... but Pulisic ... whew ... really bad, almost walking around on defense like he was a big star.
Did pusilic kick himself? Mr. glass.
Fair point, but the man bun is elite.Tim Ream is absolute garbage.
This is some shit JJ McCarthy would have done this last season.Literally kicked himself in the achilles and hurt himself.
I think Trump needs to play (striker obviously) after the Maccas break.
This loss is going to negate most of the momentum of this World Cup. Very disappointing. To really solidify the gains from this WC we had to win, but at the very least we needed to go toe to toe with a team like Belgium. Instead, this looks like any of the Berhalter, et al. slop I've been watching for 20 years.
We can't win this level of games with a goalie from MLS.Someone at my office told me before the World Cup that Tim Ream would be the death of USMNT and through the first four games I was like "wtf was that guy talking about" and now I'm like "oh I get it."
Also, feel like our goalie is not it. Relative to other goalies I've seen at the World Cup. But regardless of the flub I just don't see him flying around "stealing" goals.
We need gap closers. All three North American host countries making it to the Round of 16 objectively demonstrates growth in the sport. We're getting better, winning more group stage games (some convincingly) and competing against the top squads better.
But there is still a significant gap between the very top countries and our squads. Those top 10-12 squads are deep, nasty and capitalize on seemingly all of our mistakes.
