I think they will do fine with their super easy schedule and stacked roster everywhere else. I think they will remain in the top 15 when it comes to rankings, but not a top15 team in the true sense.
Wow that schedule is a joke. Nonconference is Abeline Central, Oregon State and Sam Houston. Their toughest Big 12 games are, what, Houston? Arizona State? (both at home btw).
But with the talent they have purchased, they could easily go undefeated, lose to BYU in the Big 12 title game, and still make the playoffs while their coach is mouthing off out the rigors of playing in a conference.

Well, I hope they're on our side of the bracket then.

Playing teams like Sam Houston and others should count against a team; severely. If you get ten points for scheduling a Miami or Texas or whoever, you should be penalized for scheduling a patsy.

Doesn't Bill Connelly do something similar about returning production?

Great to see how much is returning. Provides an understanding about the culture being fostered by the coaches, players (and parents) buying in, and more. Obviously, you can be bad and return a lot of your production, so it isn't a great metric in that sense. But when you are already good and return a lot... NEAT.

The wild part about this defense and roster construction to me is the fact they brought back those good rotation players that would likely leave other places (Talich, Sneed, Ausberry, Zachary, etc.) The production they did lose on defense, could be argued, will be upgraded by the players that will be filling those snaps on this team.

The offense, I am glad that they will have a few games to be able figure out who the go to guys are going to be. As much as I like the RB room, I think people are still underestimating how good Love and Price were. WR room still has to prove it but the ceiling is incredibly high.

On defense they lost Gabe Rubio, Devonta Smith, Jordan Botelho, Josh Burnah, Donovan Hinish, Tuihalamaka, Jared Dawson

Who are being replaced with: Jayden Sanders, A. Pouncey, Khary Adams, JOB, DJ McKinney, Tionne Gray, Francis Brewu, Keon Keeley, Ewatade, Dunham, Hola

So D. Smith is replaced by two starter-level players from UM, Colorado and a bunch of stud freshmen. The 6 DL replacements for the 6 lost plus what ND has in the development pipeline is really incredible. On paper, this is the most elite 1st and 2nd team defense I've ever seen at ND.

I think I could make a compelling case that our 2nd defensive unit would've started for many teams in the past 2 decades. We have 3rd team guys who would've started 10 years ago. This is an absolutely loaded team.

Geez....as a bears fan that has been to games at the mistake by the lake, id love to hit Lambeau field for a game, but not at the ticket prices I just seen on stubhub. Hell, we went to the playoff games for less than what's on there

ND @ Lambeau does not interest me in the slightest. Maybe it's the neutral site thing just generally, maybe it's the ticket prices, or maybe it's the absolute blowout this game should be.

For me its more the fact I dig the older stadiums, they have character. Looking forward to taking daughter to Wrigley for a cubs game this summer. Still cant believe the only time ive made it there is for a hockey game
