Moira Rose was one of the funniest characters in the history of television. Catherine showed up on day one with a made up accent. They had no idea she was going to do that.![]()
SC TV was overshadowed by SNL but was pretty good.Had no idea who that character was. Knew her from the Home Alone movies, the Beetlejuice movies (I enjoyed the 2nd for what it was, she doesn't look bad in there compared to some more recent pictures), as well as Sally in Nightmare Before Christmas. Did not know she was in SC TV, but makes sense as she had great comedic timing. Home Alone is probably my wife's favorite movie, she's probably in mourning right now.
Loved the theme song…Demond Wilson, who starred as Lamont on Sanford And Son in the '70s, passed away yesterday of cancer according to his family. I always thought he and Redd Fox were well paired on the show. He did a good job being the calm, reasonable foil to Fred's over-the-top nonsense.

Sounds like cancer - after a "brief illness." She was great in Season 2 of The Last of US on HBO. Home Alone mom was classic. R.I.P.
In pictures: Catherine O’Hara’s memorable roles
I did not know that Beetlejuice had a sequel. RIP.Had no idea who that character was. I had no idea such a thing existed. You would think someone, like a doctor, would have noticed during a physical or something? She was born with Dextrocardia with situs inversus. Where your heart is located on the opposite (right) side of the body. She did not find out until she was around 50 years old.
I learnt about this condition while playing Metal Gear Solid lolI had no idea such a thing existed. You would think someone, like a doctor, would have noticed during a physical or something?
It’s the big one Lizabeth!
You don't know my dog. You obviously don't know my dog.Best in Show was one of the funniest movies I’ve seen. She was fantastic in so many roles. RIP
Chuck Negron, co-founder and co-lead singer of Three Dog Night, passed away on Monday from heart failure and complications from COPD. Negron was the lead vocalist on most of the band's biggest hits such as Joy To The World, One, An Old Fashioned Love Song, and Pieces Of April. Negron was immensely talented, but struggled terribly for 20 years with a major addiction to heroin as well as being an alcoholic and cocaine user. It eventually cost him his job in TDN and financially ruined him. At one point he was homeless, broke, and living on Skid Row in Los Angeles. Thankfully, after several attempts at rehab, he finally got clean and sober in the early 90s, then embarked on a reasonably successful solo career that lasted until 2020 when Covid and health problems forced him to retire. Heck of a voice and sang on some of the biggest hits of the 70s.

I love me some Never Been to Spain, but Chuck had no involvement with that song on any level. Cory Wells sang lead.Three Dog Night performed down in Cincinnati around 2002 in one of the free Oldies Fest events that WGRR hosted for several years. They put on a great show, great music, one of the better headliners I saw when I went to those concerts and I saw a couple dozen acts perform during those years. Unfortunately Three Dog Night got upstaged by one act that came before them that night, Tony Orlando. I only knew a few of Tony's hits, and he did play a bunch of artists other songs for the show, but he absolutely killed it and had the crowd eating out of the palm of his hand. He already won the day, but for icing on the cake he brought a couple up from the crowd that was carrying a giant American Flag. This was about 9 months after 9/11, so of course everyone cheered even louder when he did that. Top to bottom that was a great show though, Three Dog Night put on a great performance too.
RIP, Chuck! Thanks for the great tunes. Joy to the World, Mama Told Me Not to Come, Never Been to Spain, One, Old Fashioned Love Song, great stuff.
Saw them in their prime in '69. Danny Hutton is the last of the three with us. TDN has 21 top 40 hits with three hitting number one. Interesting sidenote. They originally called themselves Redwood. Brian Wilson was going to sign them to his record label, but after a couple of days in the studio, he didn't think they were good enough. lolChuck Negron, co-founder and co-lead singer of Three Dog Night, passed away on Monday from heart failure and complications from COPD. A mighty wind blowsIf you haven't seen Schitt's Creek, Best in Show, Waiting on Guffman....you don't understand the talent of Catherine O'Hara. Please watch at your earliest convivence. (Schitt's Creek might take a couple of episodes to get your head around, but give it time. And each episode is about 22 minutes.)
