Here's what this year's CFB Playoff would've looked like under the Big Ten's proposed 24-team format.

ND would have played JMU in first round, and with a win, would have faced Ole Miss.

Tomlin leaving is bad, IMO. Dude seems like a real one. Something about the way the Pittsburgh Steelers hold coaches was different and good. Him and the good Harbaugh dropping just doesn't seem right.

I'm curious what the strategy is on QB. They do probably need one. Just in case.

I doubt they'll push in chips for an elite younger guy who'd learn behind Carr for a year and then take over. More likely it's someone with G5 or FCS experience who's willing to be a backup on an elite team. While it'd be nice to have that QB for spring ball, it could also be someone with GT eligibility who doesn't win a job in spring wherever they're at now and is still able to transfer after that.

In other words... Drew Pyne?

As a G5 Grad (UCF), I was a proponent of G5 teams in years past simply because they succeeded when given a chance. UCF, Boise St, TCU, Utah. But now with NIL and the portal, they just aren't competing at all. They aren't even scheduling multiple P4 teams either.

I agree and favor 16 teams, but if all the P4 teams are only going to play 1-2 somewhat challenging games, and that's it, then 24 teams is almost needed as a tournament where all the top 4 teams finally play each other.
