Replaying Fallout 4 again

Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I havent actually finished it but I didnt like that it didnt seem like there were actually choices/consequences like FO3 and NV.

Rumor is FO3 remaster drops soon. I will play the shit out of that. First game I really dove into on 360

You're right. They really dumbed down the choices and dialogue for Fallout 4, took a lot of the old school mechanics out that were there from the beginning like Karma. Fallout 4 is a decent game, it has it's merits, but New Vegas or 2 are still the superior Fallout titles.

I've just played through Dispatch. What a great experience. It's basically playing a movie with branching choices, like classic TellTale games. Great story, great writing and of course, amazing voice acting (it's the same people who voice the absolutely awesome Legend of Vox Machina on Amazon Video).

Ok, I'm 3 episodes in and I don't want to stop playing. I fuckin' love this. It's less like a video game and more like a hybrid between a Netflix show/anime, a JRPG, and...I guess a watered down Dance Dance Revolution as far as the Hacking mini game. The hacking is secondary and unimportant, but I'm loving the story so far, characters are great, love all the options as far as branching stories, and I like building the Z Team during the actual dispatching phase. It really plays like you're binging a TV show, except you call the shots. I was a bit pissed about the result at the end of Episode 3, but that only means I'm invested. It's 4am and I want to keep playing despite having to work in 4 hours.

I could NOT put this Dispatch game down. I managed to finish the playthrough over the weekend, immediately began starting another playthrough, then finished that second playthrough today. Love this game, and even though I got it on a sale it's a good buy at $30 still. I finished the first playthrough in about 12 hours which is admittedly short, but I replayed it for another 11-12 hours so I could try other options and see other endings and cutscenes. There's still additional paths I could take, but I might wait until they add additional DLC for a Season 2.

As mentioned, it's a fantastic story and the characters are great. I love the branching options, and the art is well done. The antagonist is introduced early and adds to the story. The meat of the game is the cinnematic arcs you create via story choices along with the "dispatching" sections as you build your team of heroes, and I enjoyed experiecing both. The hacking minigame in the game is still pretty mediocre, but it's not really a key component and it's mostly there to break up the gameplay a bit. The hacking isn't particularly difficult by any means, although it does get progressively more complex.

I don't really have anything to say negatively about the game other than it's short, but it's no shorter than a typical Netflix show season and I 100% found this more enjoyable. I literally found myself laughing out loud at times in this game, and while there are some gripping scenes I didn't find it over the top emotional or tugging at the heart strings too much. If there was one minor frustrating thing to nitpick it would be late game. In some of the later missions they'll throw a curveball at you. Normally you want the best hero(es) assigned to a particular job to achieve success, however in some of the late game missions there's conditions where if your hero or team or heroes EXCEEDS a certain threshold for a particular mission then it's an automatic fail. This could be that your heroes are too powerful for a particular job, or they're too smart, or too charismatic, etc. That makes it really difficult or completely impossible not to fail a job if your heroes are overpowered. Like...if your heroes have more than the required strength to succeed, can't they just...take a little effort out? I'm pretty sure this mechanic was just added to combat power creep and add some difficulty back in, but I wasn't prepared for that and maybe that's a good thing.

Started playing a bit of Arc Raider.

I see why people like it but I dont fully understand the point lol
Optimal playing is in a party with friends, but honestly you get into some fun situations when you queue solo too. It's the first extraction shooter type game I've ever played, but I'm a big fan of it

I tried to come back to that game, just couldn't do it. Played the hell out of it on PS3 and PS4. Tried it again last year on PC, still got bugs and exploits that have been known for some time and Rockstar hasn't fixed them. I spent almost an hour helping a guy do some heist, he purposely leaves during the ending cutscene, he gets to keep all the money and I get $0. It has been known about for months, no fix.

Yeah I hear ya. The game is actually FULL of glitches/exploits/bugs etc. thankfully I know what missions are buggy and junk so I avoid them.

Also I never play in public lobbies. I always go solo for that main reason. I don't trust anyone.

The biggest issue with GTA-5 is that ROCKSTAR is 100% focused on GTA-6. That's why they don't pay much attention to 5 anymore. Pressure is on them to release 6.

Also by him leaving right after the heist, that's a known glitch. It's so he gets to keep the money AND re do the heist from the last spot saved instead of doing it from the start.

It's called a "forced close" and you can actually glitch the casino tables and win millions this way. (I don't cheat though)

Rockstar only pays attention if THEY'RE the ones losing out on money. When the game was still pretty freshly released with Online and people starting using SQL injection to give themselves huge bank accounts and the like, Rockstar was quick to fix that shit. Found a mission that pays well and can be done in 2 minutes? Quick nerf. Anything to prevent people from getting cash quick so they can try to force them to use real money to buy in game currency. People are scamming other players out of heist money? "We'll get to it next quarter maybe." Hell, the online heists are still with some bugs like a decade after they were released!

I hated GTA online,.... with a passion. I wish the core game had a bit more depth to the hiests and crew dynamics.... anyway, I'm still playing through KCD2, easily the best open world game I've played since at least the Red Dead games. Not only is it a GREAT game, but you know what really makes it stand out??? They actually put everything into the GAME and not some stupid freakin online mode.

I'm honestly not looking forward to GTA 6 as much as everyone else... I'm a fan of the series, and I'll get the game, don't get me wrong... but I fully expect it to be shorter than GTA 5 and lean more into the online crap... and that definately lessens my enthusiasm for it.

Online is a blast with the right people/friends and in an invite only lobby.

I'm on PS5 mostly but also have a steam character. I'm only level 80 and I'm not sure how crazy I want to get in the game as it would be fun to start over fresh with friends/new friends as 6 gets released.
