Solid UT Run-stuffer DT with good size (6'5" 285 lbs); had 34 total tackles (2.5 TFL, 1.0 sack) in the regular season.

Being he's UT, he could be heading right to MI and Wittingham.

Oregon has lost as many players as we have, and they could still win the national championship.

More to the point, of our 14, one (Burnham), maybe two (KK Smith?), played meaningful minutes this season. Most were unlikely to ever play much for us. That's why they're leaving. To go somewhere they can. This is fine. Get worried only if/when the good players start jumping for bigger paydays. That's what happens to most teams.
Most of those teams defections were guys that weren't playing.....difference is some (aside from BYU) lost 4* and 5* talent with elite potential but were playing behind guys with similar rankings/potential.

I've been looking at Transfer Portal Home - Transfer Portal College Sports News and Recruiting

Nicely laid out, and a good interface, but it seems really out of date. A lot of the ND portal guys aren't listed, and I don't see much change on the main list.

Does anyone have any better sites/links to follow and track portal activity?

I like all the discussion here, but I'm looking for a single site/page where I can track activity.

Thanks so much.

Would be kind of OK with locking down one of the final top targets at DT and sneaking Mukham back. No reason to believe that'll happen but wouldn't hate that finish if Onye gets approved.

This is what I'm wondering about. Does the staff have a DT (and for other key positions of need - WR, Kicker) target list it's quickly moving through to get guys on campus and pitched ASAP?

I know MF and staff are now being especially tight-lipped, but all we can see is that there are a few top DTs, for example, that are in play but showing no solid movement towards ND, and are not even close to being secured, so you would think the staff in such scenarios for a position of need, are then immediately moving on to the next tranche of DTs - guys like Hjelle - on campus to try and close them ASAP.

I'm sure Hjelle wasn't in IUs top DTs target list either, but I think Gilliam declined to commit to IU, for example, so they pretty quickly moved on to next guy.

If the staff is hanging on to hope for guys like Gilliam and Brewu only and not expanding their net right away (I'm not saying they are doing this or not - we don't know what they're doing), by the time they may decide to do so, those players are gone in a fast-moving portal market.

Sure you start with the top P4 targets but you move very quickly with a rapid "shit or get off the shitter" mentality on to the next man up and ruthlessly close until you get someone from the next group and so on.

ND has different needs and budget, but I think the strategy is still the same if you're gonna to start with a cream of the crop coveted target group; otherwise, smart moneyball peeps on the staff go after a target group that's not the super-hyped up group and they start there instead.

Again, this is not an indictment because we have no info for how they're operating / what they're doing, but it sure seems from outward appearance that the staff is constantly chasing the elusive pot of gold.

Interesting to see he played JUCO ball for two years.

Wonder how all this is craziness is affecting JUCO programs?

Do most schools have any academic requirements left that might precipitate a player going back to the JUCO ranks? My guess would be probably not.

At this point, they might start going back to highs school. Why not?

I know it's not as high of a priority, but would ND take a run at this guy as a Nickelback / DB depth piece? ND has had success with Navy undergrad transfers.

Might be wrong, but he might be the guy that was chasing J Love down on his incredible TD run against them this past year.

I know, Alohi Gilman, but it hard to see anyway a Navy DB could help us. They play nothing but zone because they can’t cover anyone
Gilman was unique

As desperate as we are for multiple starting Defensive Tackles, I've been reading a Miami board and they're beyond desperate for a proven QB. It's pretty funny. They're talking themselves into Ty Simpson backing out of the draft and entering the portal. They've also been going on about how Cristobal only wants good character guys but now the word is their staff is interested in Leavitt or Raiola. They think Dante Moore would be foolish to declare for the draft, despite being a top 5-10 pick, but that's because they know Oregon will outbid them for one of them if Moore leaves.
