If we're looking for DT's, Keeley ain't it. Hughes is significantly more productive and is already DT size.

You'd probably look at moving Bryce Young inside before you consider Keeley.

Man, I don't follow recruiting hardly at all, I remember this guy was an early commit and then left. I don't care one way or the other. I don't know how some of you guys follow recruiting closely, it would give me a headache.
So... what are you doing on here then?? I'm not trying to be a smart ass but I follow this shit religiously, everyday for going on 20 years. I can't think of any other reason to frequent this site then to follow recruiting.

Hey now. We are the unparalleled source when it comes to coaching prowess as a function of their ACT performance.

Follow the team, banter with other ND fans. I keep an eye on recruiting like for the next class upcoming and look at our composite rankings, but I don't live and die with it. Every so often a certain recruit catches my eye and I get invested. CJ Carr is an example of that. Recruiting is too fickle for me and especially today it seems like if get a commit for say the 2027 class today, the chances of him making it on campus, actually playing for the team, and finishing his college career here, etc. is just very slim anymore. I care about recruiting because it's very important, but I just can't follow the soap opera of it all. Glad guys like you do though because when I need the info yall have it for me.

I said something along those lines in Carr's thread a few weeks ago. That I always thought it was too good to be true so I tried not to get excited about it... Lloyd Carr's grandson at ND, no way that ever really happens. It's fucking great that he saw through what the meat chickens have to offer, but anyway after reading what you said it's clear to me that you're also a Notre Dame junkie. Just accept it brother lol

Is Burgess an inside guy now?
It's possible, but probably depends on how they view the end spot compared to the interior.

Rubio and Dawson are gone, and while Onye is technically out of eligibility, sounds like he'll pursue a waiver for another year. Donny and Hughes have another year, so they'll be back. They appear really high on Mullins, and another year to add size will do him well. There's also Mukam and Sevillano.

Right now, Burgess is probably the #3 big end behind Burnham and Young, and if Traore and Junior return as expected, he'll probably be end #5 or 6 with Thomas. There's also the arrival of Rodney Dunham, who is an absolute freak of nature and can absolute push for early PT. Even Scrooge has a shot to push, as his senior year, he's showing significant technical improvement, on top of being an athletic freak. End is going to be stacked for years to come.

So Burgess might have a better shot of getting into the rotation at DT.

It's a young man's game! I used to invest a lot of time and energy into following it, but at the end of the day it's a crapshoot and we're talking 17-18 year old kids that get swayed by a variety of factors. I just wait till signing day now and pull for the guys that actually make it to campus.

Rubio's done? I guess looking at his bio, he has played four-plus games in four seasons, but damn between injuries and whatnot, it feels like he never quite clicked. Too bad.
Having Onye back next year would be huge. Mukam or Sevillano turning into players would be nice too. You can never have too many DTs, and older guys tend to do well.
We'll probably need to go to the portal regardless. If Keeley's interested, sure, take a look, but I wouldn't make him a priority.

Multiple reports saying keeley previously WAS interested. Notre dame politely declined. It’s not happening

He’s 6ft5in 282… didn’t they try to get him to gain weight to play inside? I thought I saw him playing DE in that last game as a rotational guy.

Honestly, this has to be a pretty easy discussion

You always loved ND, defense has been elite, youll get plenty of reps, we have an NFL Dline coach, we have a schedule where you can really put up some numbers, and we're going to the gotdang ship.

He’d start on our interior without trying. Who’s going to beat him out?

He's more of a hybrid guy than pure interior player. He can rush from the inside in a 3 man front, but I think ND has a more athletic, longer player already on the roster that can do that job better.
