Kenny Dillingham was born in Phoenix and attended Arizona State. Who is anyone to say what a better job is for Dillingham? It's a new era. Rhett Lashlee staying at SMU rather than going to Auburn or Arkansas (Lashlee's alma mater) would have been unheard of 3 years ago. Welcome to the New World Order.

I'm always heart warmed every time an ND assistant coaching job opens up and every candidate proposed by message boards it some former ND player. Here we have a situation where said coach staying at said job makes a tremendous amount of sense on multiple levels, and people don't get? These dudes looked at Penn State, Michigan, etc. this last carousel and by the majority thought "Nah, I'm good." For good reason.

Doesn't seem like too many people are tripping over themselves to want into that hot dog water smelling shit show up there with the level of scandal and dumbfuckery that's been going on. They had to pay a gazillion dollars to land a high school quarterback that was right down the road from their campus. Anyone arbitrary could argue that there is a lack of institutional control at the present moment.

Wittingham finalizing a deal to coach scUM…

Disappointingly solid hire imo. Brings boring stability to the program, which is probably a good thing for them.
I wouldn't worry. I think this is a 2-4 year plan to clean things up before he retires then hand the reins off to the next coach.

That's my hope at least. He has a 65% win percentage. That's just MEH to me. But I'm not a professional college football analyzer.

Crazy move at age 66, imo. I mentioned this before, but why not pursue chris klieman? He's a proven winner and almost a decade younger.

He will be stable most likely for the 3-5 years, will have well coached teams but will have issues on hitting home runs in recruiting especially with the stink on the program and age, one can hope. NIL will of course negate some of the recruiting woes

Kleiman “retired”, that’s why Colin Klein is taking over at KSU.

Kleiman didn’t like the new direction of CFB…. Transfer portal, NIL, having to re-recruit players, being a lobbyist in regards for donors.

He’s a legend at Utah. I’d be surprised if he left the cupboard bear over there but you never know.

I’m curious who is doing the hiring with seemingly everyone on the chopping block.

66 years old. He's certainly a solid coach and had some good success at a program where 10 wins is an outstanding season. I don't know how that's going to work at Michigan. He must be a decent talent evaluator based on his record but how good of a recruiter is he in the new landscape of CFB? He's never had the pressure of recruiting for a program like Michigan before. To me it seems like a very safe hire. It does seem like he's just a placeholder until they can sign someone they really wanted.
