What the fuck is going on here

It's fucking Christmas and people are still pissing in the bed? For fuck sakes if it were to happen then you grow the fuck up and move on

Come on pussies. Merry Christmas
This (in the nicest way possible)!!!

Don't worry about things you CAN'T control and focus on the things you CAN control. Your life will improve!

Can somebody explain to me why people are saying 2026 is it for Freeman? There are a lot of college coaches who stick at successful programs for years and Freeman does not seem like a good NFL fit. So where is he going in 2026? I don’t understand that talking point.

Unless he's the biggest liar and manipulator this school has ever seen, he's not going anywhere.
It's all speculation for views or to try and slow down the school's inevitable rise to greatness.

It’s mostly because he’s hasn’t come out to deny interest in anything else.

You know he recruited Angeli, Minchey and Carr right?

As far as picking names goes, we have nothing better to do until spring practice starts. It’s just a fun exercise to see who other posters would want to coach ND if shit ever hit the fan.
He also recruited Jurkovec, Brendon Clark, Drew Pyne, Avery Davis as a QB, and Buchner. He coached Wimbush for multiple seasons. We needed transfer QBs in 2021, 2023, and 2024, and had Buchner/Pyne in 2022 because of him. He was about as bad of an evaluator and developer of talent as is imanginable in addition to being a poor recruiter.

And every news headline has shifted from “MF sparks NFL interest” into a more aggressive “MF on verge of leaving for NFL” approach.

The headlines have. But the articles themselves are no different than what they were before. I think the biggest issue now is that for at least another week and a half, its all speculation until people can start actually interviewing those who are already in the NFL.

Lanning

Lea and sneakily Elko
Next tier would be Rees and Brohm

Gruden just because I like him and actually think he could do well here
No fuckin' way. Louisville is fed up with him and his brothers. You hire him, you get the whole bunch.

The only coach I'd want after MF with this talent in the locker room ,and shady enough to dominate in this climate is Urban Meyer.

Go ahead and throw tomatoes, but he'd 10000% win a Natty.
I know it hasn’t been that long since he coached college but a lot has changed. Do you think he could get away with bullying players like he’s accustomed to? I don’t

Maybe not but the guy just flat out wins in college. If he was actually interested I would say it’s a no brainer.

Obvious points by Golic Jr, but the Ben Johnson comp is spot on. Wait for a better job to open up.

That is my thoughts... Short term solution that could produce a natty. Likely would implode after a few years.

Why anyone would think Gruden, with a career win percentage of .511 and has never been a head coach in college, would succeed here is totally beyond me. It's been almost 40 years since he last coached the college game.
I'm genuinely curious... What is the appeal with him? I guess some people like his meathead football bro catchphrases and facial contortions. The guy is a PR nightmare who flamed out in spectacular fashion, his former players hate him, and he's probably never getting another coaching job at any level again. It's not 2005 anymore, and the game has clearly passed him by.

Agent: If you do this, you get a bigger bag and become the darling of ESPN and all the sports world not Notre Dame. Bigger market in a major city. Now is your shot. Take it. If you lose at ND next year, the fanbase will just sell you up the river like they've done before.

Friend: If you do this, you kick a University and your team in the nuts when they are down, and more importantly when you are on the cusp of becoming a legend for all time. Yeah, you might ride the high of a new opportunity, but your words about ND and all that you've worked hard to build will ring hollow.

Why in the hell would Freeman jeopardize living right next door to @GrangerIrish24 and risk having to live next to some schmo? Freeman has it good where he is.
New contract perks
-pay increase
-increased NIL spending
-transfer process for incoming players becomes easier
-Granger will forever be your neighbor

I fear the first and only call would be to Clark Lea in the event Freeman left. I think Lea is a very good coach but I’d like to see more from him without Pavia before making him the heir apparent how some of the beat has already done

And I don't think Lea would come. Not out of hate for ND. I think he's in a place he wants to be, and good for him and what he has accomplished so far.
