LOL! I get it. That's 99% stereotype, though. I've been to each of the lower 48 several times except for only going to VT twice. The difference between states is pretty minimal. Rural NY is rural AL is rural OR. Same for urban areas for the most part. We all watch the same TV, listen to the same music, read the same books, listen to the same news, surf the same Internet. Just like every other state, Alabama has some poor areas, some very wealthy areas, some very backwards areas, and probably a lot more high tech than most with all the NASA, aerospace, and DoD stuff in the Huntsville area, and all the high end medical centers in Birmingham (lots of top pro athletes and wealthy foreigners come to B'ham for sports & coronary surgery). Basically, it's like everywhere else. My experience is that 99% of the regional or state stereotypes from all over the country are about 99% BS.
