The Jets have a lot of draft picks to throw at the Bengals for Joe. They have a ton of cap space and their o-line has been giving Fields about five seconds to throw per drop back. I think Joe could throw a football through a thimble with five seconds to process and setup.
Getting traded from the Bengals to the Jets is enough to make him pull an Andrew Luck.

Yes, but the one difference this time is the Jets have a loaded o-line full of first and second round picks. I read somewhere that Fields has been getting near 5 seconds on average per drop back. He processes like a commodore 64 so it hasn't mattered.

Decent stable of backs, tight ends, and receivers don't hurt either.

*edit- Marcus isn't going anywhere so I'm barely derailing this thread with jet talk.

Among fans who primarily follow the NFL over college, Russini has long had a reputation for inaccurate or straight up false reports. Like many others, she’ll throw shit at the wall on the chance something happens so she can claim it as a win.

So while I don’t doubt the NFL has interest, I’m certainly not gonna worry about her input on it.

Why isn’t Dan Lanning‘s name floated for every job on the planet?
I think he's pretty dead set on being at Oregon long term - nobody is wasting their time. He shut the Alabama rumors down pretty emphatically when that job opened.

Tweeting the same article twice with photos of Freeman instead of the other 4 candidates mentioned to get people like Eville is literally exactly what she wanted out of the article.

It was also a huge nothing burger. Him being “on” the giants list has been known for weeks.

The real reporting is they didn’t even interview him.

Also, the greatest college coach of all time (Saban) failed in the NFL. I get the desire for a better calendar as an NFL coach, but man, you’d have to really think about this.

She’s still waiting for that AJ Brown trade to happen
Also waiting on Aaron Rodgers to the Vikings she was so adamant was going to happen. Even after Vikings coaches said that had no interest, she still said it was a possibility.

It's like Freeman being on Penn State's list, on Florida's list. It means nothing if the job isn't on Freeman's list too.

Now, I do think at some point Freeman will take a serious look at the NFL. But he's got a roster, a schedule, pretty much everything aligned to win a national championship next year (and hopefully a very large chip on his shoulder). And the NFL isn't going anywhere. It doesn't really make any sense right now.

A podcast I was watching awhile back let slip that Lanning had a separate deal with Phil Knight in addition to his contract with Oregon. First I ever heard of it and I haven’t heard it anywhere else but it would explain why his name never comes up.

Would be curious if UA has a deal with MF. If not, then they should.

He failed in the NFL because he had asymmetric advantages at certain schools, without which he was average

Hope you’re right man.

Feels like a lot more smoke this year then the Bears rumors last year, but that also comes with the territory of our season being over a month early then last season.

I’m personally not going to feel safe until every single realistic NFL vacancy is filled this offseason.

All I know is that if coach does leave for the NFL, I’m probably going to need to just leave twitter for good, because of the amount of shit talking I’ve done to Miami insiders that seem to think he is NFL bound.
