I'm worried about both the Giants and Steelers until proven otherwise. With that being said, the "-200" odds and such were all fake. He's below 20% and trending downward, and most NFL sources are pointing at NFL names not Freeman. There is no evidence whatsoever that he is a front runner, and people who were citing betting odds to say he was are liars.

Steelers aren’t firing Tomlin

Per several reports, Giants have moved on. They vetted MF, but never interviewed him.

As much as I love Freeman, his MO fits waaaaay better with college kids than the NFL IMO. I just feel he needs more time before he is ready for that jump. He's only led a program (amazingly) for 4 seasons.
doesn’t seem like NFL players give a shit about “team glory” & “choose hard”. That would fall on deaf ears. Not that I blame them but NFL players have to keep the Paulie mindset from “Goodfellas”:

“QB is out for season w/ injury?” Fuck you, pay me
”Revenue share is down?” Fuck you, pay me
”Star WR is holding out?” Fuck you, pay me
”You’re cutting me and I signed a long-term deal?” Fuck you, pay me

Freeman has done so much work to build up the foundation with his coaches and recruiting classes and has ND positioned to take a dominant position in the sport. If ND is really willing to keep the rolling open contract with him and supply him with everything he needs, it's hard for me to think he'd leave when we know how he handles insult, explicit or merely perceived.

I suspect the competitive coals have been stoked and we're going to see intensity in Freeman. This whole fiasco might work in our longterm favor despite the short term pain.

Maybe, but he won't be coaching the steelers next year. Take that to the bank. He also has some drama surrounding him.

I hope you’re right. I’m a Steelers fan and his ways are way past expired.

The NFL will be around in 5-10 years. And, anyway, I don't get why it's a step up. If you fail there you have to start over and climb up again. And you don't have control over the team like you do in college (that's basically why Saban went back to college). Maybe MF doesn't care about that.

I'll be weary to trust Vegas odds ever again after last Sunday

I can't think of one college job in America better for MF right now. Can any of you?? Why go into any type of rebuild, when you have the foundation and the support at ND. It's not like ND is Wisconsin, I would argue even Bama wouldn't be an upgrade for him. He literally has the train rollin with a fan base that loves him and an Admin that is willing to keep him near the top of the pay scale.

I'm pretty sure he's done after this year. As a Steeler fan, I'm hoping for Mike McCarthy.
Oof. I know Mike is a Pitt guy, but man, aim higher. Signed, a Packers fan.

I appreciated all he did in Green Bay, but that dude lost his touch by the end. And then the failed Dallas experiment. Why would you want that for your Steelers?

I’d have to think that Denbrock and Al Golden would get serious consideration, no?

I’d also put Lea on any shortlist. Elko is probably past his expiration date.

What is the story on Brian Daboll? I don't follow the NFL very close I'll be honest, but I thought the GM for the Giants was a giant douche and I have the feeling Daboll wasn't willing to listen to a guy that he was pretty sure he was smarter than.

It's been so bad in Pittsburgh that I'd give anything for MM production (12-5 3 years in a row) in three of his last 4 years in Dallas (dealing with Jerry). And he had a great run in GB minus the last couple years (which in my world the "last couple years" has been 8 years)

In short, I'd be very happy if MM was hired today so we can get out of this stupid ass Tomlin era.
