All this pissed-offedness said though, I really just want a playoff to crown a champion. I don't particularly care about any team getting in past like 5 or 6.
That’s not a good comment because if Notre Dame did get in, they would’ve been in at number nine or 10 which is past five or six and we definitely had a shot this year to be crowned champion.

ND and Texas should reject their bowl games and set up their own game in a neutral site.
Get together with Texas and create the FuckESPN bowl and play in it.

If I’m looking to play someone in solidarity of this bullshit I’m not choosing another SEC darling that I’m sure the committee would’ve loved to put in the bracket over Tulane/JMU.

At the end of the day the committee is sending ND a message join a conference. If we don’t we will continue to get screwed we will need to go 12-0, 11-1 to get in the playoffs. Next years schedule is a cake walk and we need to go 11-1 to get in. Also hopefully Love says fuck it and comes back

I would agree with you if they weren't actively campaigning against ND for the past 5 weeks all the way up until the very last possible second. Every single broadcast included the announcers pontificating about "head to head." I didn't watch it, but I can GODDAMN guarantee that the MAC championship had the announcers going on and on about how Miami should be in.

ESPN is the corporate owners of the SEC and have a massive financial stake in the ACC. Their constant clamoring for Miami and the PR campaign about the "bonus game" this morning show that. They have no piece of ND. They get ratings from us, but they will always get ratings.
The problem is that nobody lost. The way the last few weeks of the season unfolded with ZERO upsets was basically a mathematical impossibility and the only path that could have gotten us into this situation. By all rights Notre Dame and Miami should have both been in.

You guys are vastly overestimating the degree of coordination between the business people and the on-air talent, and between ESPN and the Committee.
It doesn’t take much, just refresh the talking points in the production meeting. That’s it.

Yes, they have a shot, but, and I said this before on here, ND can really only blame themselves for leaving it up to these chucklefucks on the committee. Don't lose the 2 games you lost but shouldn't have.

I'm surprised they didn't get in, but they kind of left it to chance.

Cashed a hedge that will cover Christmas and family Spring Break trip

I am still physically ill and feel like throwing up. My blood pressure is at “I’ll be in jail if anyone comes near me right now” levels

I'm not sure why you guys are mad at the ACC. The SEC is SO clearly overrepresented, it's crazy. None of their teams are that good this year. ND (and Miami) should easily be in over Alabama and Oklahoma.
The biggest reason is they (ACC/Miami) directly attacked us and did not approach the narrative from the SEC perspective you are rightfully stating. They also have direct ties to ESPN and their broadcast bias is disgustingly horrid. The Stanford coverage is the most recent evidence. Plus, their reffing crews are utterly terrible, and on and on.

I'm not surprised at all and I'm honestly not even mad. It's a crazy system that allows personal beefs to jade votes and guaranteed includes bribes. But I also hope the Irish reject any bowl. No sense risking injury for nothing. Let's just move on to next season.

- These rankings just revealed the playoff is not about metrics, not about resume, not about head to head, none of it. It is a room full of business partners who decide how to allocate money.

- The loser of the SEC (or B1G) Championship game will NEVER receive a punishment that is anything but cosmetic.

- None of the P5 conferences will EVER get left out of a CFP.

- The week to week rankings and show DO NOT MATTER.

- Given the above, ND needs to seriously reconsider Independence. You cannot continue to play a rigged game.

I was convinced this would happen and I told myself yesterday I'd stay away from watching/listening to the reveal. Well, that didn't happen and I was still glued to YouTube and this board (wasn't able to watch on TV) with the hope that we'd make it. I feel like such an idiot.

Kind of hard when the SEC doesn't call tackle as a hold on a game winning touch down.

This is so freakin depressing. There really was no one besides OSU with the kind of complete talent/studs we have. Can't believe we are gonna be on the sidelines watching all these incomplete teams play. what a fucking waste. Havent felt like this since a little kid during Holtz years. But that was usually one bowl game not a whole fucking playoff month.
