I'm really struggling to come up with adequate words to describe just how cynical this is as a trio of US Marines come out with a gaudy gold trophy which has four hands holding up the globe.

Doing a Last Chance U rewatch. Finished the first two seasons with EMCC. Started Season 3 with Indy in Kansas and I had forgotten how unlikeable Coach Jason Brown and QB Malik Henry are.

Also found it funny that the QBs featured in the first three seasons were all Florida State signees.

I don’t watch almost any modern shows,… and my in laws reminded me why today. They sat us down to watch ‘the best show in years’,… The Pitt… I fucking hated every minute of it, every scene is either just too graphic or anxiety ridden to be enjoyable or they lower the pulse for a scene or two just so they can force a collection of cartoonishly heavy handed political check boxes,… it’s fairly well acted I suppose but no thanks,.. just my thoughts

Slow Horses on Apple is just fantastic. I could watch Gary Oldman's character argue and annoy people for hours.

Stranger Things season 5 is off to a really good start. Recaptured some of the magic for me. Hopeful it ends on a high note.

Binged S1 ad part of S2 of Landman this weekend. Another great show by Taylor Sheridan. I know I've said it before, but Billy Bob Thorton is a hell of an actor. The scene where his son tells him he loves him while they're in his truck is some pretty strong stuff by BBT.

Landman‘s premise is based on a podcast called “Boomtown”. The host is a journalist who grew up in west Texas and went back to interview the wildcatters, rig workers, bar employees, strippers/prostitutes etc whose livelihood depended on a boom or bust. Season 1 is directly based on his reporting & interviews specifically the crew who perished in the explosion. Fascinating to learn about how dangerous & boom/bust that life can be.
