Curious on where everyone's thought process is at...

My two cents... IF Bama and BYU both lose, we are sitting at 9... IF Bama wins and BYU loses, we are staying at 10... IF Bama loses and BYU wins, unfortunately Bama gets the nod for the 10th seed, strictly based on the committee's actions from Tuesday evening.

Yes. If TTU wins, we’re in. And even if they don’t, if UGA beats Bama by 10 or more, we’re in. Miami is just noise.

I don’t understand, if texas tech loses how BYU doesn’t simply take their spot?? Tech’s resume would be,…. Lacking. Also can’t understand bama staying in if they lose. Screw this ‘can’t punish a conference title game team’ nonsense,… of course you can

BYU has to lose. Bama should probably lose to give a cushion between us and Miami. Of course, we should hope conference championship game losers are not punished.

Sagarin: No. 2
FPI: No. 3
FEI: No. 4
SP+: No. 5
Massey: No. 6

Let’s hope committee uses these analytics

As far as conference talk and the conspirators that believe the theory that IF Duke wins the ACC and the ACC is now left out of the CFP, it then puts pressure on the committee to put Miami in, so the ACC is not left out. For those people, just remember that this is the same committee that left out an UNDEFEATED, 13-0 ACC champion in Florida State years ago. TBH, I believe the committee feels that the ACC is complete dogshit; especially since a 7-5 Duke team made their conference championship.

In that event, I think you need to have a chili cook-off with a TTU fan to determine who gets the playoff spot

I voted yes but with some hesitation. I just don’t see BYU winning.

I will repeat what I posted earlier today...

If many here are to be believed, perhaps an Alabama CCG loser replaces ND, but I think it would be Miami in that scenario and that 'bama drops out (3 damn losses, come on).

BYU and 'bama both need to be losers; otherwise, IMO, ND is out.

Apologies if this has already been stated (I can't keep up with all the comments here) but I was looking at current CFP rankings last night and based on the committee's latest comments, I think ND absolutely needs BOTH BYU and 'bama to lose to guarantee its spot in the playoff.

1) If 'bama wins and BYU loses, we're likely stuck at 10 BUT the committee has laid the groundwork that if it's ND at 10 and Miami at 11, we could be flipped due to H2H outcome
1a) Even if 'bama throttles GA, they would then likely drop GA below both ND and Miami for sure and same as above
2) If 'bama loses and BYU wins, 'bama likely drops but I would think below both ND and Miami and we're in the same #10 and #11 pairing and above situation

The committee can't be counted on to vote ND in over Miami if they're in consecutive spots, their "we see ND as better than Miami" comments over the past month notwithstanding.

Go Red Raiders! Go Dawgs!

Again I don’t see how a two loss tech team stays in over multiple other teams,… forget ND
I think the committee really likes them and they have great "game control metrics." They're also just so high up now I don't see the dropping all the way out. Even if the committee is back off of it's "we're not going to punish CCG losers" that is a steep drop. Unless they get totally annihilated like 70-0 and they lose a bunch of key starters or something.

I can’t read thru all these. I could if I already knew we were in and I wouldn’t GAS who or where we play. A home game would just be icing on top. I realize I would just stress out the more I read thru these. No way a losing TT team should stay in ahead of us. I know they like to use not penalizing a team for playing in a championship game but that should only apply to the SEC if the loser winds up with two losses (not three) or the Big Ten. Same rule applies. As long as they allow the outcasts a place at the table while not being undefeated and potentially a 5 loss conference champion then NO 3 loss team can take up a playoff spot. If Bama loses again we have no need for a potential beat out of three between Bama and GA. The ACC champ will be a joke and the Big 12 minus TT is a joke. ND has not played a truly contested game because they have been that good and by most accounts could have been even better. We are last years Cinderella team on the same roll if not better than last years finalist who took Ohio State to the final 3 minutes. We have Love, we have Freeman and we have the legacy of CFB in play. Would take some serious hate and serious football incompetence to leave ND out. If the committee reverses position on Miami then I want a Trump executive order giving us our rightful 1993 head to head National Championship Trophy!

No because they had the conference championship game where Florida State’s offense looked like ass as cover.

Committee obviously doesn't take the fact that Ole Miss is without their head coach that seriously. I get it I guess at the end of the day players play the game not coaches. I do think it merits a drop in the rankings though IMO

If Alabama beating a terrible Auburn team barely and moving ahead of us doesn't tell you anything I don't know what else will.

There's your sign! 👍

This morning is the calmest I have felt since Tuesday night.

I really feel like they have already decided on Miami.

If Texas Tech wins, we are in.

I think Bama is irrelevant.

If Bama wins and BYU loses they can move Bama up and just keep BYU at 11 with the logic that they were already judged better than Miami and shouldn't be viewed differently because they lost to the team that already beat them (no new data).

If BYU and Bama both lose they can either drop them each one or just leave them the same and say they didn't want to punish them in the rankings for losing the extra game.

Light ALL of the candles and say ALL of the rosaries for Tech to win.
