The point I’m surprised hasn’t been directly addressed though the metrics indirectly do, is the Big 12 non conference was joke.

Texas Tech = nobody
BYU = nobody
Utah = nobody
Iowa State beat Iowa, I guess? That’s the crown jewel. Maybe TCU over SMU.

UC lost to Nebraska. Baylor lost to Auburn. ASU lost to Miss St. Kansas lost to Missouri.

I don’t think a BYU for example deserves any benefit of the doubt in the slightest. At least FSU beat Bama and Miami beat ND.

Opinions should consider the "body of evidence"
Arguments based on a single data point (head-to-head, or SOS, or whatever) are willfully ignorant and easily dismissed.

I agree. Willfully ignorant sort of encapsulates social media so its not a coincidence these opinions are found on the socials.

Yeah, but you're not accounting for the fact that they play a "Conference Schedule" (bonus points if that is said with a drawl or a twang). So you see, the "Grind" of a "Conference Schedule" really wears ya down.

I know he’s a Miami grad but Bear has been surprisingly anti ND. Top 40 is such a BS arbitrary line to draw. The difference between the #40 team and #49 team NC State in Sagarin for example is almost irrelevant, it’s 2 points. Whereas the difference between 10 and 20 is wide, 5 points for example. ND beat Arkansas and NC State who lie in the Top 50. If he would have marked it there it’s a whole other stat. Or let’s stop it at 25 or 30? But FSU, USF, and UF are right outside the top 30. Huh.

40 is extra dumb because as Bear probably knows Sagarin ranks FCS programs. Freakin NDSU is in the Top 40 of Sagarin. You would have to go in the 60s for Top 1/3 of FBS.

Surprisingly? He is anti ND any chance he gets

Yeah, Chris Fellatio has been a dick for as long as I can remember. Should have stayed behind the camera.

I know this is a snapshot in the moment, but again, the 1 seed gets absolutely shafted by this bracket format.

I seriously wish all playoffs for every sport would adopt my format for playoffs:

The top-rated team gets to pick who they play from the remaining teams available. Then it moves down to the next, and the next, until all the options are done. Then reset the next round. Highest seed picks their opponent, and so on and so forth.

This rewards the highest ranked teams with giving them the best match-up possible, creates unbelievable television imo with endless talkshow topics and the inevitable loss after a team chose to play another, and we would see which teams are actually seen as the scariest by their peers.

WIN-WIN-WIN.

BYU's resume is... what... a three-point home win over Utah? A win on the road at Iowa State?

Likewise in that bracket we would be vastly better off as the 10 or 11 seed than the 9.

Mark Harlan (Utah AD) replacing Rhoades on the committee seems like an unforced conflict of interest? Utah is literally likely to be one of the first teams out at worst. They couldn’t think of an AD that isn’t ranked between 8 - 15?

Thought they picked Yurachek.

Edit: they did, but also picked Harlan. Yurachek is new chair.

If they finish 8/9 they likely go to the Rose against OSU for the first time in almost 100 years with a win

Saragin fuckin' sucks. Morons are the only ones that follow that IU affiliated bullshit. They started that crap whenever IU's basketball team became totally irrelevant to give their home base something to hang onto. Fuckin' Loosiers!!! Fuck IU along with meatchicken!

He's been straight propaganda since the first rankings release and when called out on it he threw a top tier hissy fit

A&M, Navy, and Arizona are all good results for us.

Cincinnati was a possible Top 25 win for BYU

USC should officially finish ranked even with a loss to Oregon.
