Did you guys see the leaked email from Pete Bevacqua to the ACC Presidents about the tweet today? Seems a bit melodramatic:

"Sons, we live in a world that has greedy conferences, and those conferences have to be hampered by a brand with a national fanbase. Who's gonna do it? You? You, North Carolina? ND has a greater responsibility than you can possibly fathom. You weep for Miami, and you curse the domers. You have that luxury. You have the luxury of not knowing what I know -- that Miami's exclusion, while tragic, probably saves college football; and ND's existence, while grotesque and incomprehensible to you, saves college football.

You don't want the truth because deep down in places you don't talk about at tailgates, you want ND on that wall -- you need ND on that wall.

We use words like "tradition," "independence," "Guiness." We use these words as the backbone of a life spent defending something. You use them as a punch line.

I have neither the time nor the inclination to explain myself to an ACC who rises and sleeps under the blanket of the very financial protection that ND provides and then questions the manner in which ND provides it.

I would rather that you just said "eat shit Pitt" and went on your way. Otherwise, I suggest you leave your conference and stand the post. Either way, I don't give a damn what you think you're entitled to.

Screw you all and happy Thanksgiving,

- Petey B"

I thought Pete was being pretty reasonable until I got to the bottom and saw his attachment.

So Texas Tech loses to BYU in conference championship game, BYU is automatically in and the committee is committed to "not punishing", so are they both automatically in unless the committee walks back their stupid championship game criteria?

Possibly. I think it depends on how many 2 loss SEC and Big 10 teams are out there.

I’d rather get the 10th seed avoid Ohio State get Ole Miss in the first game
I'm not so sure OSU will hold onto that 1 seed.

OSU finishes with UCLA and Rtugers at home and @ MIchigan.

OSU hasn't beaten Michigan in years. They're shit, but they were worse last year and still managed to beat them in Columbus. Even if OSU finally wins, they’ll be coming off an emotional high after spending the entire week obsessed with that game - and then they’ll have to turn around and play IU in the BIG title game.

IU finishes the year at home against Wiscy, bye, and @ Purdue. Basically three straight bye weeks gives them the luxury of prepping for OSU for weeks.

OSU is the better team but the path is a bit tricky, and it's far from a given they'll run the table.

Indiana will show up for the B1G title game with chip on their shoulder and having played a few close games.

Ohio State may show up having played maybe one the whole season post-texas (I think Michigan will at least keep it interesting)

Ohio St may just decide to rest some of their starters in that meaningless BT championship game.

That's the Old Oaken Bucket game. You never know. Given the way IU smoked them last year (revenge?) and that Purdue has been playing better each week, it's not out of the realm of possibilities that Purdue gets the upset. I don't think it will happen, but one never knows.

As it stands, I think they’d much rather draw the ACC/Big 12 winner as the 3-seed and avoid an Oregon or Notre Dame matchup as the 1-seed. I just can’t see them trying to guess what the committee will do if they sit their starters and lose, or predict predict how the final rankings will shake out after the conference title games.

They won the "CCG", which I understood to mean the conference championship game.
Mea Culpa. Correct.

Have to think the ACC has the potential for this again this year. SMU has three. Pitt is going to have three. GT could lose to Pitt and UGA. That's three for them. UVA has two and still has Duke and VT.

I think there could be a potential shit storm if a three loss team wins an actual playoff game.

If Purdue beats IU, I’ll ride a unicorn down I-65 to Indy in assless chaps, stop in Lafayette to swipe that shitty old bucket, and hand deliver it to you.

Duke could win with 4 losses, end up ranked lower than 2 G5 conf champs, and the ACC would be shut out of the playoff altogether.

Why stop at 3 losses? If Duke wins out, it's very likely likely they'll play in the ACC title game with FOUR losses.

They’re -4.5 against Virginia this week and finish at UNC and home against Wake, so they’ll probably be favored in every remaining game.

I mean, really, OSU could lose to Indy in the BT championship game 110-10. Doesn't really matter because it's the next game that truly matters. Ha!

This possibly just got easy. I believe that all we need is to win out, and root for both Alabama and Georgia to eliminate Texas and Oklahoma this week. Then, no matter what happens with the Tech/BYU dance, we're still in. The committee likes us. They are not going to let any three loss team in over us. They're definitely not letting in two ACCs.

I've given this far more thought than it really deserves.

I need ND to go 3-0 vs the ACC, starting with Pitt.

Of course it's not the same conversation. You can't shit on ND when you're talking about Louisville.

Edit: Ari being a bitch in the replies is everything.
