They finish @ Pitt the last week of the season. I doubt they’re going to enjoy that weather.I don't see Miami beating both NC State or Pitt he way they have been playing
Zero G5 teams in the top25????#10 in the CFP rankings

yep.Zero G5 teams in the top25????
Pretty tough when G5 is just a development leagueZero G5 teams in the top25????
I love it. I want to be hated so badly. This weekend and Pitt weekend its gonna be cfb nation vs. ND. People are going to be praying for us to slip up so hard.
Parity may be at an all-time high.Pretty tough when G5 is just a development league
Nobody said that. What was said was there were situations where it could happen. Vandy, Miami, GT, and UT all lost last week which was perfect for ND. If they had all won, we would have been on the outside in this initial poll. Was always going to be a long shot we were left out just because of the chaotic nature of college football. If it makes you feel smarter than all the “idiots”, congratulations. Happy for you.yep.
Cue the idiots claiming we would not make it even if we won out
clearly wrong
yesAm I oversimplifying this? Assuming we win out, we need two of the following to happen to feel really confident about getting in.
Texas to lose another game, Oklahoma to lose another game, BYU to go undefeated

If Oregon loses another game they are most likely out too they got Iowa, USC, Minn, and Washington leftAm I oversimplifying this? Assuming we win out, we need two of the following to happen to feel really confident about getting in.

I think the only way the Big 12 gets two in is if BYU goes undefeated and then loses in the CCG. Seems like BYU losing to TT would be good. Don’t see them putting in a 2 loss Big 12 team over us as an at large.Am I oversimplifying this? Assuming we win out, we need two of the following to happen to feel really confident about getting in.

I think if Texas wins out, beating Georgia and A&M, they would probably jump us. Likewise Oklahoma, winning @Bama and vs. Mizzou. I don't think either of those things happen but if they did it would be hard to argue for us over them. Then there's the worst-case scenario of BYU going undefeated in the regular season but losing the Big 12 title game.BYU doesn't matter, but them beating Texas Tech would be very nice. Ideal scenario is BYU beats Texas Tech and then Cincy beats BYU. That'll push the Big 12 totally behind ND and essentially lock ND into the 8 seed, without any other SEC or Big 10 chaos.
I don't think ND falls behind any 2 loss team regardless of who is in front of them. If Oregon, UGA, Ole Miss, or Bama lose, ND moves up. MAYBE not Bama. The committee loves ND.
Consequential matchups this weekend:
Iowa-Oregon
Texas Tech-BYU
Alabama-LSU
UGA-Miss State
Zero faith in USC beating Oregon at Oregon, but it would be awesome if they did.If Oregon loses another game they are most likely out too they got Iowa, USC, Minn, and Washington left
Although less probable, you know the ratings will be up there for Cuse and Stanford, too, based on this. This weekend and Pitt weekend its gonna be cfb nation vs. ND. People are going to be praying for us to slip up so hard.
Yep. Don’t care what anyone says, the playoff has made the regular season way more fun. Tons of games that have an impact.Although less probable, you know the ratings will be up there for Cuse and Stanford, too, based on this.

But it would probably take all three of those teams getting at-large bids to box us out, and that seems unlikely. No one else behind us really seems like a factor for an at-large at this point.
The BYU scenario only matters if Texas or Oklahoma jumps us. Right now at 10 we occupy the last at-large spot, with two conference champ autobids behind us. If there's a third - Texas Tech - then we'd have to be the nine seed. Right now, we would be. But if, say, Texas were to jump ahead of us, and one-loss BYU stays ahead of us, we might get squeezed out. Both of those are on the road. Could it happen, sure. Honestly, the best scenario is Texas beats UGA and then loses to A&M.
The BYU scenario doesn't really impact anything though other than ND not moving up to 8 or higher (and even then, I am not certain they wouldn't drop the Big 12 runner up out). It just slides the Big 12 champion, previously unseeded to either 11 or 12. It's much worse for the 10-11 ranked teams that will be behind ND who is moving up after this weekend regardless who wins BYU-TTU.
If Georgia loses it's either to Texas or GT, both of which would probably jump us in that case. I think we need Oregon to lose and the TT and BYU is an inevitable spot for us.So, to get a home playoff game we need to be rooting for Oregon to lose as well as Georgia. What else? Just everyone in front of us?
