Here is a recent quote from Trevor Laws. He seems to be on the GG bandwagon

Q: Who is one player on currently on the Notre Dame roster that most fans haven’t seen play yet that will surprise people?
A: Gary Gray

Q: Outside of the defensive line, what do you expect to see out of the underclassmen defenders who began to emerge in 2007 such as Kerry Neal, Brian Smith, and Darrin Walls?
A: Kerry Neal and Brian Smith should have monster seasons this year coming off the edge. DBs like Darrin Walls, Harrison Smith and Gary Gray will also have great seasons.

And McNeil. He still has 4 years left, so this year he can learn and hopefully get some nickel time. I think he is talented enough to overtake Lambert, if TL isn't careful.

I highly doubt he will overtake Lambert, unless injuries occur. Nevertheless, I sure hope to see more of McNeil. He had a lot of talent coming from high school, but i still haven't seen it translate to south bend. I look for him to have another low-key year, but eventually break out in '09.

Rumor has it that Gary Gray has already reserved the Second of 4 interceptions returned for touchdowns this year against Michigan, with Darrin Walls have 1, 3, and 4.

GO IRISH!!!!

Just noticed that GG is listed at 185 now, 22lbs more than back in the recruiting time. Seems like a stretch.

OFD says he's suing Notre Dame and the NCAA over concussions. Seriously.

He better win because I'm almost certain his degree will have zero network value. He must believe he has a strong case, perhaps using the Michigan game as evidence?

Gary might be living with brain damage but he played poorly in a football game so who cares?

Yea, I don't think it's fair to judge this as it stands now. I have no idea how Gray is doing now, and if he is suffering from post-concussion or TBI symptoms.

Nevermind on embedding the tweet, I guess. It's not embedding correctly.

No. I believe it's foolhardy to go after the school unless you believe they didn't follow concussion protocols. If that's the case, I hope he wins but it's hard to be sympathetic when no one else believes they were treated incorrectly (or they haven't spoken up yet).

Why is this now coming to light? What circumstances changed for him to evaluate what happened to him in 07-11 and finally decide it wasn't right?

There are concussions in football and these players choose to go out and play. Unless there was misconduct on the part of the training staff/coaches (which I'm skeptical of), then I don't see how his claims could be true.

But it sounds like you have more information or a different perspective?

Right, and ND has been very strict on that. We won't clear players (see: Dan Wenger) if we feel there is any threat to their long term well being... while other schools can and do clear those guys.

You're not allowed to sue just because something bad happened to you, you have to prove negligence. And therefor his avenue of attack is going to be a (likely) false smear campaign against ND trainers or coaches or something like that... so at first blush, it's realllllly hard to be on his side.

Lawyer is probably grasping at straws, and thinks that if you throw around the word concussion, you can get big name institutions to pay you settlement money.

But again, I'm going to refrain from judging Gray at this time.
