We're allowed to have nice things. Hasn't felt like it in a very long time, but we really are allowed.

The ultimate nice thing of all is the National Championship we've been waiting for. I hope that they can deliver one while CJ is in the program.

I hate to be hyperbolic, but I’m a 33 year old with a wife and children.
I’ve been waiting my entire life to be this excited about a Quarterback at ND.

Brady Quinn was awesome, and I was young, but I never thought he was at this level of pure throwing ability as I feel watching CJ.

Long may it continue, and no matter what happens this year, I just need to continue to remind myself that it is a privilege to watch this level of QB play at ND.

Hopefully it happens again within the next three decades.

You can't help but be impressed with Pauling and Fields. They're helping. He's got a great link up with Faison. Massive OL that has been fantastic at pass protection for most of the season so far. J Love and J Price help too.

Sky is the limit, but tempered expectations are still probably warranted. He's probably got a clunker coming at least once more this season, but with the running game and improving defense, it should be fine.

Just don't want the clunker to be USC.

Heisman odds have been funny this year. Complete crap shoot that changes weekly and doesn’t seem rooted in stats at all so far. Carr has no chance of winning but it would be cool to see him put up the numbers to stay in this range, making him a Heisman favorite for 2025.

If we could somehow make Love and Price conjoined twins they would be heavy favorite.

Hartman left some to be desired but he also got saddled with an awful WR core and OC. The Duke and USC wins were still as great memories as the Louisville and Clemson losses.

Also no take aged better than I thought they should have tampered with Will Howard and got two years out of him.

If Sam Hartman is on 2024 OSU do they still win the natty? I’d say yes.

Rather crazy. Almost nobody has been better than Carr on passing downs, and he certainly has maybe the toughest sample size of that group

Sam was good and like Dale says, he got hosed by a terrible Offense, he almost left and I wouldn't have blamed him

He loved ND and I'll love him for it. He beat SC. He's good in my book
I give our transfer qbs credit for really embracing Notre Dame. Easy place to embrace and all obviously but the vibe they gave was dudes who would've killed to go to ND but the offer never came.

I wouldn't say easily because I think Will Howard was a better QB
Ok easy was a strong word and you're probably right, that being said they would have trucked Tenn and Oregon anyway and I don't think ND would have pulled off the victory either.

Yep. I'm sure Hartman had a generous offer to follow Rees to Bama. He stuck and did what he could, despite Parker and the atrocious wide receiver situation that year. A good one, even if the preseason Heisman hype was a little excessive (had those people never watched him try to throw a deep ball?)
