I appreciate all the replies. Thank you very much! Friday night isn't really an option, but I can leave at like 5am. My plan is to see the sites after the game. Idk anything about the book store. What is so special about it?

It’s basically just the spot to buy apparel

Can hit the grotto at night after the game and TD Jesus, everything else may be closed up or too dark to see. If you can back to campus the following morning you can see everything in relative peace

I've had great success staying in Elkhart, since you can take back roads there after the game. You want to avoid the highway if possible.

I’ll tell what’s special about it. You can drop a couple hundred the minute you walk in. The lines do move quickly but make sure to get a credit limit increase on your Visa. You’ll have sticker shock once they hit the total key. Lol

You can probably see most stuff after the game, and depending on where you park the traffic doesn't move much the first hour+ after a game so that's not a bad time to do some things on campus. The lots closest to the stadium are usually the worst, you're better off tailgating or finding something to do for that first hour after the game and let people clear out a bit

The game is a 3:30pm start, so what time do the parking lots allow cars to enter?

if that's your game buy tix now. If they lose a few early you may get them cheaper but in all likelihood the price will only go up
It will be a long day. Do not drive back that night. Elkhart or Angola are good options but they may make you buy two nights.
Mass after the game is good

I know it was UVA but they have some players. The QB and the main running back have some speed.

A team to keep an eye on.
UVA, like Stanford, are two of the worst P4 teams. NC State I don’t think can play defense. While Bailey looks decent, he may not see the ball much in unpredictable situations.

Watched the game last night they were down by 14 against Wake and came back and won by 11. Their QB is sneeky good and they have a really good RB. Wake wasn’t able to run they did get most of their stuff through the air. I think NC State will be 6-0 when we play them

In yet another shootout with Duke

Maybe it feels worse because of the defense but this schedule is very offense heavy. Arkansas, Syracuse, NC State, Boston College are all teams that have played shootouts more than defense.

Just ordered my tickets for this game. Do I need to get a parking pass now, or is it simple enough to find parking for the same price when I get there?

I said this in the Purdue game thread. Others mentioned they've also parked east of campus for $30ish like around Bulla Rd

That's what I did last year for FSU, I used ParkWhiz app and found a private lot just east of campus. For about $20 we parked at Ascent Hospice on Edison, just .6 miles from the stadium parking lot. The people there even took my son and I to campus when we parked, so we only had to walk back after the game and it was a very short walk. The best part was we were able to get right on the road, didn't have to wait through any traffic. Normally I'd have a Stadium Lot tag, but I would 100% use that same location for parking again using Park Whiz if they're still offering that spot. Very nice people, and the free ride to campus didn't hurt.

I reserved my spot about a week before the game. Keep in mind there's always the public lots you can pay for too, like White Field (Although that's a longer walk or a longer wait if you have to sit in line for a shuttle).

We are driving up Wednesday, coming home on Sunday. Bookstore, Grata, Bugles in Main, Mass, the pipers, pep rally, library, statues, trophy room, and at least one Irish pub over 3 days, oh yeah, and a little game in the middle. Are we missing anything in our typical schedule?

I mentioned it before earlier in the thread but I am taking my pops to his first game at ND. Looking to take him to a nice restaurant in the area either after the festivities on Friday or after the game on Saturday. Any suggestions?

Let us know if you're passing near Fort Wayne. We've got a whole thread of recommendations.

It really depends on price point...if looking for more fine dining, I would go with LaSalle Grill in downtown South Bend, Parisi's close to campus near Linebacker and Ruth Chris steakhouse in Mishawaka...

If more fast casual, im from Chicago so Barnaby's has a soft spot in my heart from growing up so recommend that.

And if you dont want to break your budget on clothing, ND has an Outlet store on Ironwood...I have found some good deals on items there.

Weiss's Gasthaus is my favorite SB spot, if you like German food. Homey environment
