Leaning toward a close L if for no other reason than I wouldve bet money that we split the series with A&M rather than sweep it on the front end. Also I'm a pessimist so it feels better.

24-14 Irish. Faison breaks a long screen for a TD and Denbrock joins the board and says Fuck you
If Denbrock only gets us 24 again then Fuck him. He’s why we are in a must win situation. If he scores over 40 he can stay.

TAMU 31
ND 17

I think the defense has a rough day and gives up a bunch of explosive plays and I think the offense stalls out because of OL issues.
Seriously! If you’re wrong an apology is warranted. Let’s hope you’re wrong.

I see this as a thread not about being right but more about supporting your team and sending them confident vibes. For those picking against us fill in the blanks for the next two words.

Well, shit. I tried to change my vote to A&M by 99+ but the damn thing wouldn't let me.

When it comes to guessing what will happen, some people like to guess what will happen. If you're not mature enough to accept that, that's your problem, and the fact that you're going there when 86% of us guessed ND would defeat a very formidable opponent makes it extra pathetic.

Can't wait for us to have A&M 3rd and 8 deep in their territory and Chris Ash has the defense play 12 yards off for an easy pitch and catch. This will come in the first quarter and deflate the entire stadium. I have zero faith in this guy.

I’m curious about what your opinion was when Golden called a double safety blitz against CJ Stroud, leaving a true frosh CB on an island.

Having zero faith in a guy after one game seems dramatic.

yes that was a moronic call and even worse execution by the safeties and mickey.

With that said, he called a great game other than a few plays. That was a really good OSU offense.

Did anyone feel that ash had the D prepared or called a good game overall vs Miami?

People left the OSU game in 2022 talking about that one play call and execution, people are talking about the entire body of work of the D vs miami when most/everyone expected our D to be dominant.

The Navy game was my big issue with the D in 2022. USC, we just weren't healthy or athletic enough.

I have no idea how our guys are going to play. I'm going to guess Irish by 6.

The defense didn’t play great against Miami, but let’s not act like 2 of their 3 touchdowns weren’t bullshit prayers off of Beck’s back foot.

MF teams have generally responded very well when their backs are against the wall and have more often than not gotten up for big games. I just can’t imagine us starting 0-2 after what the team showed in “win or go home” spots last year.

We lost to a top 10 team on the road by 3 after spotting them 2.5 quarters and everyone is out here acting like this roster isn't loaded with depth.

I trust the staff to correct the issues we saw in the first half, get Love/Price more involved, and let CJ cook instead of dinking/dunking on early downs. He proved he can carve up a solid secondary in the second half. Take the training wheels off.

WE are the better team, we've had two weeks, we are at home.

With single digit spreads at home dating back to 2020, ND is 7-1-1 against the spread. The only loss is to Cincy and a push against OSU. Their average margin of victory is 15 despite the average point spread for the wins as favorite being 5.5 points.

Then why do you think ND only scores 24? Utah State and UTSA scored 22 and 24 points on the road at A&M respectively?

Yeah, I can see an Irish loss but am with most here, believing they capture the urgency of last year and make a predictable leap from the Miami game. If they lose, all the MFMF/MMFF crew need to reevaluate their love affair.

Tough fought game, oline is better, but not great. Their QB aggravates us one too many times. A lot of field goals.

ND 16 - Aggies 20

Board goes in to total meltdown, calls for mass firing and trashes recruiting.

I surely hope that I am wrong. I do not think that the A&M defense is overall very physical or good tackling / defending the run. They get after the passer, so you don't want to be in obvious passing downs, but they're giving up 6.3 YPC to running backs having only played Utah State and UTSA so far. So **on paper** we should just be able to run the ball down their throats.

The problem is what OMM has eloquently said in multiple posts now about the OL. Most people thought that the OL would be a strength coming into this year but they were a disaster is execution and assignments against Miami. The big issues I see are that Knapp showed no improvement after being the weak link last year and then the performance at RG was a huuuuuge drop off from the consistency we got from Spindler. Will they click this game? If they do, ND could blow out A&M.

But we also don't know what to make of the A&M offense because they have yet to play anyone with a pulse... but its undeniable that they have a very good OL, good backs, good WRs, and a dynamic dual threat QB. I think if ND plays how they did against Miami they could get gashed like we have rarely seen in recent years. This is the "show me" game for Chris Ash, IMO.
