I’m going:

Love
Bowen
Craig
Wagner
Shuler
Botelho (if they go with 6 captains)
Botelho would be a great choice given the trajectory of his career at ND. With that speech he gave to the team last year, he's clearly got the chops.

Feels like a lot of time spent on Carr’s recruitment and anticipation, all for him to probably end up transferring. What a time

Only way I could really see Minchey is if our talent is so good around the rest of our team that we really only need a game manager type. Somebody that will play safe and not mess it up and give teams a short field against our D. The only way Kenny would be the pick is if CJ's gunslinger mentality gave the other team the ball too much. If this is indeed true, maybe the staff thought check downs, a strong running game, and relying on the D is the way to go. Shoot, it worked last year. Although Riley was special on the ground. I will obviously root for whoever it is.

If it really is Minchey, I think the staff must just think CJ is a bit too neurotic
Honestly, especially with opening in Miami, this was something that worried me. If the pressure of a camp competition is causing him to not advance like expected, I don't see how you can expect him to handle going on the road to a very raucous environment against a top 10 team. In the same vein as "one play, one life", if we only care about winning the next game, I just feel like Minchey's cool demeanor might be a better option to start.

If Minchey wins, I honestly think it's just the athleticism component + "fit"... Minchey isn't some dynamite athlete but he is good enough in the QB run game that you have to respect him. Leonard was listed at 6'4" 216 and Minchey is 6'2" (this might be a bit overstated) / 208. He's big enough / fast enough to do some of the things we did last year while also being a more accurate passer. And we had a top offense last year thanks to being able to run the ball down people's throats. Our passing game was non-functional for large stretches and we still blew out most teams over the latter half of the season.

I don't have a dog in the fight as who I'd rather see start because I trust the coaches. But really awesome for Kenny if he won this job. I think at seasons end we'd have had him at 4th best odds to be the QB next year behind both Angelii, Carr and even Ewers. Also pretty ironic that the Moore thread has become a thing of legend around here and the only reason Minchey is even in the program is because of Dante's B.S.

Don't count him out yet. He might not start, but we still don't know how Minchey will do or, knock on wood, that he will remain healthy all season. Frankly, I think a big part of this is how the season opens. If we had a couple cupcakes to start the year, maybe Carr would have been named the starter with the idea that he could take time to grow into it. And, if Minchey doesn't perform or does get hurt, that same thing might be the case.

Just placed $25 on Minchey to win the Heisman at 80 to 1 before it drops. Carr was still 40 to 1.
Obviously you got "value" by betting it now before it's announced. Still throwing money away. Our QB will not win the Heisman. ZERO chance. We won't pass it enough to accumulate the stats and PLUS everyone will believe that he won't even be the best player on ND's offense.

Georgia won a title with a walkon QB you can have an average QB as long as you have loads of talent around him. If it's Minchey good for him I just hope he improved from what we saw in the spring game because that performance isn't gonna cut it. As far as Carr, I just hope hes willing to stick it out injuries happen he could be called any moment, the last thing I wanna see is Kenny QB1 we make playoffs and Carr whose backup leaves the team before playoffs start.
