What Really Grinds Your Gears?

That's ridiculously redneck. When I see it I think, "Do you think some woman is gonna see those and think you must be a superstud and she's just gotta have you??? How often has that worked?" :D
You got soft hands brother. Soft hands

This year’s pregame activities during the MLB all star game. It was simply awful. Nearly all the players looked embarrassed to be part of the event.

Backing into supermarket parking spaces.

I don't care if you do it at home, I kind of understand wanting to just point forward and go in the morning when you're headed to work.

At the grocery store or anywhere like that? Just fucking park your ridiculous truck and let us all get on with our day.

(Bringing your shitty kid and/or dog to the bar and thinking they're charming. They're not. They're annoying.)

(Homeschooling should be illegal, no exceptions.)

TBF, backing in is way easier in full-size pickups due to their turn radius. We don't do it for fun, that's often times the only way to get into parking spots. That's why you see so many trucks pull through two spaces so often. It's easier to back in for safe parking without hitting any objects, it's not an "easy exit" thing.

And as a Truck owner, yes, we also back up because that's how we roll-easy exit. Now we don't do much to be cool, we just are because-we drive a truck and not some electric vic.

I’ve had to do a 27 point turn to get out of a tight parking space. Back in 100% of the time now and LOVE that it grinds your gears.

Oh, I live on the Chain O Lakes and bring all my kids to the bar every weekend we’re out boating too.
I'll be honest he lost me with that one, too. Are parents supposed to leave kids home alone every time they want a dinner out? That's impractical as hell.

I took it to mean he left his kids at the bar, while he and the missus were out boating. Now that would grind my gears.....unless of course he let the kids put charges on his tab................then that would be ok. ;)

We don't live in a subdivision and our street has gotten busy. Regardless of which vehicle I drive, I back into our driveway. Grinds my wife's gears and drives her nuts. More the reason to keep doing it. lol

Well then, what grinds my gears is people who have enough money to buy massive trucks that are too hard to park like a normal person at the supermarket, but don't have enough money to buy an every day grocery getter as well.

(I should add that I spent 10 years as an over the road trucker and understand the urge to show off parking skills. Protip: 99% of you suck at it and have to pull-up at least once which makes your whole damn performance even more insufferable)

(This was not meant as a personal slight at anyone particular on this board as I like you all and wish you all well)

I rest my case and I will not be following up on this grievance.

I drive a small-ass Ford Escape (paid for by work, plz don’t @ me), and I still back into my parking spots.

It’s not about showing off or making people wait… it’s about dictating the terms of when I put the vehicle in reverse and go into “limited visibility” mode.

If I reverse INTO the spot, I am dictating the best and most safe time to expose my blind spots. I know it is safe and no one is around, aisle is clear, and I’m gonna make it in one shot.

If I pull in and then reverse OUT, I no longer dictate the terms of my reverse… I am at the mercy of all other drivers and pedestrians crossing unexpectedly into my blind spots.

It’s my logic and I’m sticking to it 😂

You need therapy and I hate to say it, but you're exactly the person I was initially doing my grievance about

You think a dinner out requires going to the local bar?

Secondly, I said bringing your "shitty kid and/or dog" to the bar. I didn't say kid or dog that are awesome and cool.

If your kid and/or dog can't handle a bunch of people who may be at a place to blow off steam? Get the fuck out. If they can and they're sweet and fun? It's different.

(Likewise, it really grinds my gears when people get angry with parents bringing their kids to regular restaurants, planes, or other normal places. Sometimes kids get pissy and angry. It's their job. Anyone who can't handle that are shitbags and are certified worst people in the world.)

Blower motor went out on the heat pump/furnace. Tech comes checks it out and says he'll be back with the motor. Returns next day and after a couple of hours says it's the wrong motor. Two days later and still sweating my balls off, he returns. Installs it in a couple of hours and says the good news is the motor is under warranty. Figure the bill will be about $300 - $350. Nope, $650! Call and tell the lady that's ridiculous. Waiting to hear back. Been a customer of this company for a long time, but even if they reduce it, I'm done with them.

$650 for warranty work is some dirty work

I changed HVAC guys the last time we had ours replaced and couldn't be happier.

Sucks you go through so much and spend so much money finding a good contractor for various shit but finding "your guy" is like finding a gold nugget.

Typical HVAC and furnace repairs are simple fuses or capacitors. $5-20 parts they try to charge hundreds to replace.
They got me once in the middle of a Chicago winter, but never again. Youtube has all the videos you need to fix it yourself and it's usually a five to thirty minute job.

It’s not the flex they think it is. It’s just over compensating.

After driving a full-size pickup as a rental for a bit, I can now understand b/c it’s a bitch to park those things. So I give folks grace nowadays knowing how tough it is. That said, when driving your full-size pickup on the interstate (especially the ones w/ Texas plates) don’t tailgate me when it’s clear that there are 3 cars ahead of me in the passing lane & we are all waiting for that idiot to finally get over into the “slow” lane. As a person who drives in a week what most folks drive in a month, the surefire way to get them (or any tailgater) is to lay on your windshield wiper fluid. They back off immediately. Long story short…don’t drive like a woman.

I back in when I'm parking at some place where a lot of people will be leaving at the same time, such as a game or concert or the movie theater. It's the only way to get out without waiting forever.
