Leahy had some damn fine backs. My uncle was at ND in the late 40s, man the stories he would tell about some of the players on those teams. Johnny Lujack, Emil Sitko and Larry Coutre as your backfield would probably still win you a lot of games nowadays.

Time agjusted: Has there ever been a better first off the bus duo than George Connor and Leon Hart? And they were in the same class… even if the nabbed Connor out of the portal.

I am guessing that 90s surge was Jerome Bettis and Ricky Waters, not sure if there’s anywhere anyone else lumped into there

I don’t see any way three RBs in the same class stick around. I like the 2 per class model a lot more. If one of these guys had immense positional versatility maybe it would mark sense, but Bonner is the only one that may be true of, and we have better slot receiver prospects in play already (Frazier, Robinson).

I think bama had a class with alvin kamara and 2 other top 100 backs. But like one stayed

Anthony Johnson had a thousand yard season in the 90s. Allen Pinckett had some decent seasons in the NFL

Henry was listed at Athlete. There were 4 RBs recruited that cycle by Bama:
-Henry
-Kamara
-51st overall Altee Tenpenny
-64th overall Tyren Jones

Only Henry stayed. Class before had TJ Yeldon and Kenyan Drake. Class after had Bo Scarbrough

Damn straight. Leon Hart was a 3 time All America as End/TE/fullback and started for Notre Dame's 1946 title team as a 17 year old freshman, along side a bunch of grown assed men who had served several years in the war before they got to Notre Dame. Leon may have been the best player ever at ND.
One of my uncle's favorite stories was when as he was an underclassman and was visiting with an upper class buddy who lived in a different dorm. A couple of guys on the floor got into it down the hallway, there was pushing and shoving, and a ruckus started. The whole floor poured out of their rooms to see the fight. As the brawl went on and the yelling increased, Jungle Jim Martin came out of one of the rooms, and the crowd parted like the Red Sea. Jungle Jim walked up to the two knuckleheads, picked them up by their collars, one in each hand, and bashed their heads together, knocking them senseless. He dropped them to the ground in a heap, and told everybody to get back to their rooms and shut up, people needed to sleep. He then went back down the hallway. The crowd immediately dispersed, and all became quiet......
